Travelling is not always happy, at least for the buddies in the movieGreen Book. The popular film won Best Picture at the 91st AcademyAwards on Feb. 25.
The movie was adapted from the true story of a road trip through thesouthern US in the early 1960s. In the film, the black pianist Don Shirleyhires Italian- American Tony Vallelonga to drive him to performances, butthey face problems because of Shirley' s skin colour. These problemns leadthem to form a special friendship.
“There's something so deeply right about this movie, so true to the time, ”wrote US filmcritic Mick LaSalle.
The time LaSalle is talkingabout was between late 1870s and 1960s,a very different period in US history. Many parts of the country had Jim Crow Laws(《吉姆.克劳法》),which allowed racial segregation(种族隔离). These laws made life
and travel dangerous for African- Americans. They couldn't use certain hotels, restaurants, or even gas stations. They had to be indoors after sunset or they might- be put into prison. Even black celebrities(名人) had to follow the laws.
But in 1936, a black mail carrier named Victor H. Green had an idea.He made a list of friendly businesses in New York City. He published the list as a small book with a green cover. The Green Book helped
African-Americans travel more safely. Then, in 1964, Jim Crow Laws went away. The book went away, too.
Today many US people still remember the time of Jim Crow. But they probably don't know about the Green Book. It's a forgotten part of the story. Thanks to this movie, maybe people can remember it again.

Story 1
A boy once found a jar(罐子) full of nuts in his mother’s kitchen and he put his hand in to help himself get as many as he could. When he tried to take his hand out of the jar, however, he found that the opening was too narrow(狭窄的) for his clenched fist(握紧的拳头) to pass through.

“I couldn’t help noticing how happy you look,” she says. “What’s your secret for a long, happy life?”

Height is just one of the thousands of features that your genes (基因) decide. In fact, because you have two parents, your genes provide you a height that usually lands somewhere between the height of each parent. If both your parents are tall, then maybe yo u will be tall, too, but if you have questions about how tall you’re going to be, ask your doctor if he or she can help you find it out.
But genes don’t decide everything. For example, eating an unhealthy diet can keep you from growing to your full potential (潜力). Getting enough sleep and enough exercise will help you grow to the right height.
Maybe you’re wondering how fast you should grow. There’s no right answer. Kids grow about 2 inches (5 centimeters) a year between age 3 and the time they start puberty.
Your doctor will know how your growth (生长) has been going over the years. Two centimeters here and 2 inches there are not nearly as important as the height you’re at now, how you’ve been growing up to this point, and what other changes your body may be going through.
Don’t be worried if you have grown a lot in a very short time. Everyone has a very quick growth during puberty. The age for starting puberty is about 10 for girls and about 11 for boys. But it can be earlier or later —between 7 and 13 for girls, 9 and 15 for boys.
You’ll usually begin to find that you’re growing faster about a year after your body starts to show the first changes of puberty.
( )49.The Chinese for the underlined word in the third paragraph “puberty”is .
A. 童年时期
B. 婴幼儿时期
C. 习惯养成期
D. 青春期
( )50. If you want to know how fast and how tall you should grow, .
A. you should have enough exercise
B. you can ask doctors for help
C. you should protect the environment
D. you can record your growth during puberty
( )51. After reading this passage, we can explain (解释) .
A. how good it is to be a doctor
B. how much sleep we need
C. why genes can’t decide everything
D. what an unhealthy diet is

It ran back to the house and pulled my wile out of the house. Then my wile realized something was happening and then helped me get out of the wheel. It's a smart pig. "
"The story is amazing, but it can't explain why Pinky has the artificial legs, "I said.
"Well, let me tell you another accident. Once, my son hit his head on a stone while swimming in a lake. He began to go down when Pinky jumped into the water, swam to him and pulled him up onto the bank, "John said.
"Great! Most pigs can't swim, but Pinky can! "I said.
"Last year, a strong fire broke out in my house. My family were asleep at that time. Pinky kept barking around the house until we all woke up. We rushed out just several minutes before the house came down, "John continued.
