Step 1
Greet the class and free talk.
The topic is“Show the envelope.”
Design the aims. (Raising the questions)
1. Who did Brian write to?
2. Who helped Brian get to know the new neighbourhood?
3. What places did Jenny show Brian?
4. Is there a bookstore on their way to school?
5. Do you think it was easy for Brian to live in the new neighbourhood?
Why?Step 3
Prepare to answer the questions above by themselves.
Let students read the dialogue and talk about the questions in groups.
Step 4
Act in groups.
Ask for volunteer pairs to act it out in front of the class.
Step 5
Listen to the tape. Play the tape the first time. Students only listen.
Play the tape a second time. This time student can follow it. Then ask some volunteers to readthe dialogue and sentences.
