Have you ever travelled in another city ? Have you ever come across
some kind of accident ?
How did you deal with it ?And lead students to answer them .
Step2.Before reading
Before reading, give three questions to students.
Read the passage in silence with two questions.
Q1)Why did Aron decide to cut off his arm
Because he wanted to save his own life ..
Q2)What did he do in order to save his own life ??
With his pocketknife ,he cut off his right arm below the elbow ,and
then he bandaged himself to stop the bleeding with his left arm.
Q3)What did the book Aron wrote tell of ?
He tells of the importance of making good decisions , and of being in
control of one’s life . .

1. Find out the puzzled points by themselves.

1)find sb/oneself doing 发现某人/某人自己正在做某事
eg.When he woke up ,he found himself lying on the grass .当他醒来,发现自己躺在草地上。
2)while 引导的时间状语从句,省略主语和BE动词,直接用ing . Her mother burned herself while (she was ) cooking .她妈妈做饭时,烫伤自己了

His will to survive他生存的意志力will 这里作为意志,意愿Where there is a will ,there is a way .有志者,事竟成。

艾伦讲述了做出好决定的重要性以及掌握生命的重要性。
Tell of 讲述The importance of …………的重要性学生找出不懂得句子和地方,组内交流。
有不懂得地方写在纸上,递给老师。

课本结合起来,做到学以致用。
但学生在小组活动中,表现
的参差不齐,一部分同学参加的热情很高涨,也有部分同学
积极性不高,课堂参与的意识不强。
在以后的课堂教学中,
老师要想出更好的解决办法,让每个同学都能积极参与到课
堂中。
另外,还应适当增加些书写训练。
