Task 1.
题目:Talk about a special event or occasion that you have participated in with your family. Describe what you did and why it was special to you.
答案:Well, I gotta say the family reunion we had last year was super special. It was held at my grandparents' big old house in the countryside. You know, we don't get to see all the relatives that often. So when we got there, it was like a big party.
We started off by helping the old folks cook all the traditional family dishes. I was in charge of making the dumplings. It was a lot of fun, though my dumplings were kind of wonky some big, some small. But everyone was so nice and just laughed it off.
After that, we all sat down in the huge yard under the big old tree. The kids were running around playing games, and the adults were chatting, sharing stories about the good old days. It was really heart warming.
What made it so special was that it was a time when we all came together as a family. In our daily lives, everyone is so busy with work or school. But at that reunion, we could just relax, be ourselves, and feel the strong family bond. It was like a recharge for our family spirit, you know?
Task 2.
题目:Some people think that materials printed on paper, such as books and newspapers, will one day be replaced by electronic versions of those materials. Others believe that printed materials will always be popular. Which point of view do you agree with? Explain why.
答案:I think printed materials will always be popular. I mean, there's just something about holding a book in your hands. It's like a friend, you know? You can flip through the pages, smell that new book smell or the old book musty smell, which is kind of nostalgic.
Sure, e books are convenient. You can carry a whole library on one device. But think about it, when you're at the beach, do you really want to risk getting your expensive e reader all sandy or wet? A paperback book, on the other hand, is perfect for that. You can just toss it in your beach bag.
Also, a lot of people like to collect books. It's a hobby. There's no way an e book can give you that sense of building a collection on your bookshelf. Newspapers too. Some people like to spread out the newspaper in the morning, have their coffee, and read it. It's a routine that's hard to replace with swiping on a screen. So, printed materials are here to stay.
Task 3.
Well, I think the school's plan is really great, and the guy in the listening part has some really good points.
First of all, about students spending too much time indoors. I mean,
it's so true. We're always cooped up in classrooms or the library. Having this outdoor area where we can do our homework and have discussions like
the guy said is just amazing. You can enjoy the fresh air while getting your work done. It's not just healthier, but also more fun. You know, instead of feeling all stuffy inside, you can be out in the open, listen to the birds chirping and still study or talk with your friends.
And second, the barbecue thing. Oh man, that's so cool. Before, if you wanted to have a barbecue party, you had to go all the way to the park. It was a hassle, carrying all the stuff, finding a good spot. But now, right
in the school, you can set up a barbecue, invite a bunch of classmates.
It's gonna be a great way to have some fun and get to know more people. So, all in all, I'm all for this plan.
Task 4.
Okay, so this “information overload” thing is really a pain. Just like the professor's friend who wanted to buy a new computer.
I mean, when he started looking for computer info on the Internet, it was like opening a floodgate. There were just so many things to look at.
All those different brands, models, functions, prices, and then tons of user reviews. It was like he was drowning in a sea of information.
He spent hours reading all that stuff, but instead of getting clearer about what he wanted, he just got more and more confused. And in the end,
he just randomly picked one. He didn't even know if it was really the right choice for him. It's like all that information actually made it harder for him to make a good decision.
So, this “information overload” can be a real problem when we have to make decisions or just try to learn something new. There's so much information out there that it can be overwhelming and stop us from using it effectively.
Task 5.
Well, this is a tough situation for the girl. But I think there are some ways to work it out.
The first solution, hiring a moving company, is really expensive. It might cost a lot of money that she probably doesn't want to spend just for a bookshelf.
The second solution, borrowing a truck from a friend, has its own problems. She's worried about not having enough strength to load the heavy bookshelf onto the truck. And she's right. If they drop it, they could damage the bookshelf or even the truck. That would be a mess.
But here's what I think she could do. Maybe she could ask some more friends to help. You know, like two or three strong guys. Then they would have enough manpower to lift the bookshelf onto the truck safely. And as
for paying them back, she could treat them to a pizza or something. That
way, they get some food and she gets her bookshelf moved without having to pay a fortune to the moving company.
Task 6.
So, animals have some really cool ways to adapt to cold environments.
First, there's the physical adaptation. Take the Arctic fox, for example. It has really small ears and a short tail. You know, ears and
tails are parts of the body where heat can easily escape. So by having small ears and a short tail, the Arctic fox can slow down the loss of its body heat. It's like the fox is conserving its warmth inside its body.
Then there's the behavioral adaptation. Some birds, on cold nights, they gather together. They huddle up real close. It's like they're having a big bird party, but actually they're doing it to keep warm. When they're
all bunched up like that, they can share their body heat. So each bird loses less heat than if it was alone. It's a smart way for them to survive the cold nights without having to have some special physical features like the Arctic fox.。
