The concept of value, purpose of education and method of education between Chinese Education System and Western Education System are differentiated in many academic fields.eg education value, teaching and guiding. Teaching concept is commonly used in Chinese Education System which is base on textbook contents. Students learn knowledge through classes that are conducted by teachers inside the classroom. Besides it is being used in Chinese family education; students perceive knowledge by listening to what the parents have told them and textbooks which parents ask them to read. This concept is well effected in raising so called “good student”who always abbeys rules and regulations, inheriting traditions and general habits. It resulted that Chinese primary education is with no doubt strongly-built, especially during primary school and middle school period. That is also the reason why Chinese students can win scores of prize in Olympic competitions every year. Guiding is the main concept of education wildly used in western countries. It emphasizes the rights and respects of children, which is base on a trust motion. Schools provide students with fulfilled self-management, support them to control themselves. At home, parents see children as one equal member of the family; they have identical duty and responsibility for the family. Western children have more freedom and private without much instruction; they are more persuaded by enlightening and leading. Westerners intend to offer children
opportunities to develop themselves, discovering their potential specialties and abilities. They encourage children to study with interest under pleasure, doing what they want to do and trying the best they can. Thus western children are more responsible and confident; they have a higher grade of self-esteems because of the process of self-learning.
in China Schools care about their reputation, certainly more pressure is given to the students. Students care about are afraid of discipline or elimination, with no choice, they have to tolerate the pressure. However, those high education properties such as colleges and universities still have a low percentage of students among all the citizens in China. In western countries, exams are only a small part of course module. Western students just have to keep sufficient attendance and points, they can graduate easily. They have the opportunity to manage their leisure time, develop their interests. We could obviously find out that western people are normally more positive and easy going. They have various knowledge about life and nature which is out of textbooks, also they have better communication skills to getting along with different people.建议We should connect high education levels with creativeness in sequence so as to cultivate our Chinese Nobel Prize Winners.China has a firm foundation education system. put their creativeness as one of the targets in a purpose. Chinese emphasizes foundational knowledge whereas Western thinks highly of creativeness.China and America Chinese
education is for foundation education, and American education is for the cultivation of students’ creativity and the ability of thinking and practice. Chinese students are good at getting high marks but on mathematics, psychics and so on. However, they are lack of chances to practice skills in real world thus having no social experiences. In that case, after graduation, most students find it difficult to find a satisfactory job though many of them get a job through the relationship net. While in America, the education system pays more attention to social skills than to marks . The attitude towards study is different between American and Chinese. American education tells the students learning is for themselves, and help students to think about what to learn and how to learn, so American students study actively, flexibly and creatively. Meanwhile, Chinese education has many prescription about what to learn, when to learn, and how to learn. In China, many parents only care about whether the children have a promising future, a good job, a good life or not and the teachers care no more than the high marks.
China and America have totally different tradition and exams. Chinese education focuses on the knowledge to accumulate and indoctrinate, on how students use and manage the knowledge they learned in school, and on how to understand the knowledge system and structure. Reversibly, American care more about how students use knowledge in society. It lets student challenge the knowledge, animadvert ideas, and focus on, exploit
or create knowledge. These two types of attitude about education show us the different ways to understand knowledge, and also to show two countries with different education opinions.
Canada and China education system In Canada, students need to pay a little fee for the university study. But in China, everyone should pay for his education. The tuition is too much heavy loan to Chinese parents. Current Chinese Higher Education since the reform in 1977, have been carried out, and have been developed for more than 20 years. When we review and meditate on this system, we can find out some negative phenomena. Under this system, there were so many compulsory subjects that they forced all students to develop at a same pace. Therefore, it was impossible to groom the student individually, which is inevitable to train higher level talent. At the beginning of 1990s, Chinese higher education gradually introduced the credit system, in w which, students can select some subjects upon their own interest。
In Chinese higher education, teachers always introduce the obsolete knowledge to their students. Students do not have their own creativities. Current Japanese Higher Education: For the past two decades, the education ministry has worked hard to reform Japan's university system. In the 1991 fiscal year, the ministry adopted the policy of giving priority to postgraduate programs, leading a number of national universities to change gakubu - traditional undergraduate-level entities such as schools
of engineering, medicine, economics, literature, etc.——into research cational system disturbing freedom of thought and education .The description and interpretation of school books on history have been variously argued in Japan. This includes the recent charity argument and the argument as to whether the operations of the Japanese military in Asian countries were advancement or invasion. However, there is no unified interpretation of history among the people and no need to unify it. Strictly speaking, there are about 1,200 million Japanese nationals, and accordingly, there must be the same numbers of historical views since all of them were born at different times in different environments. Today, Japanese schools nationwide teach a unified historical view. However, this system may disturb freedom of education and belief for both right and left wingers. Japanese education should be democratized in this respect as well.
The goals of more flexible education require administrative reforms as well, to help increase institutional autonomy, and facilitate decision-making and evaluation.
In Britain,an inspired, investigative style of education, but not instill to students. The curriculum is arranged relatively flexibility, and the learning style is freedom. Britain has educational institutions in early years. With the changes of history, institutions are also continuing strengthen their power.
The French educational system is highly centralized, organized, and ramified. All educational programmes in France are regulated by the Ministry of National Education. At the primary and secondary levels, the curriculum is the same for all French students in any given grade, which includes public, semi-public and subsidised institutions. However, there exist specialised sections and a variety of options that students can choose. In the Metropolitan territory, the school year extends from early-September to early-July. The school calendar is standardized throughout the country, and is the sole domain of the ministry. In May schools need time to organise the exams.
