The same waves of invasions that give birth to the bullfight also bred the uniquely Spanish blend of races. People coming from various places such like Greece or Rome have inhabited Spain for more than 100,000 years, which sufficiently mirrors the formation of the Spanish bullfight. The main process
After the parade is finished, the president waves his white handkerchief again to indicate the entrance of the first bull.
It usually takes place on Sunday afternoons or on holidays, timed precisely against the setting of the sun. The corrida(斗牛) begins with the white handkerchief signal of the officiating president and the sounding of a trumpet. After that it follows with a celebration by parade of participants that marches in hierarchical order to the upbeat tune of the pasodoble.(斗牛舞)

In the first stage, the bull enters the ring where it will be tested by the matador and banderilleros(斗牛士助手) with the required tanda ("series of passes") using the capote. During this phase the matador observes the bull's behavior, how it charges and its ferocity(凶残).Next, two picadores enter the arena armed with a long lance and mounted on large heavily padded and blindfolded horses. The manner in which the bull charges the horse also provides important clues to the matador regarding which side the bull prefers. This is a mandatory step in the corrida which makes the bull's charges less dangerous and more reliable, enabling the matador to perform.

History the festival
matadors with a big cloak
Every year from July 6 through 14, hundreds of thousands of revelers, dancing to traditional pipe bands, pack into the center of Pamplona(潘普洛纳) to kick off Spain's most famous bull-running fiesta in honor of the Navarre (纳瓦拉) capital's patron saint, San Fermin(圣佛明). Spain stages more than 3,000 fiestas a year--everything from fire walking to goatthrowing--but nine days of partying and running with the bulls at Pamplona still triumphs in terms of spectacle and recklessness.

Different opinions
Bullfighting in provinces of Spain as of 2012. • Exceptions should be noted, such as the area of Pamplona (潘普洛纳)in northern Navarre(纳瓦拉) and Bilbao(毕尔巴鄂)in the Basque Country(巴斯克), with major bullfighting. • In 1991, the Canary Islands became the first Spanish Autonomous Community to ban bullfighting, and Catalonia (加泰罗尼亚)became the second in January 2012
In this stage, the matador re-enters the ring with a red cape stretched over a wooden dowel in one hand and a sword in the other. After about 25 minutes the bull will know that the goal is to attack people rather than cloak. It will be too dangerous ,if matador kill the bull next time. Moreover, this bull show is laying the groundwork for the final deadly sword. In the formal bullfight, only one exception will not kill ,the bull is very excellent, and match with the matador's play a wonderful show, then it will be pardoned. Not only the bull won’t die, and it will be given preferential treatment, cured injury and provided until death.

History of bullfighting
With regard to the ancient origin of the Spanish bullfight, there appears a number of different sayings. Some argue that it comes from the festivities of the ancient Minoan (克里特文明的)culture on the island of Crete 2000 years before Christ; others dispute that by the similarity between the Spanish bullfight and Roman circus combats. Regardless of the different presumptions, the roots of the Spanish bullfight has firmly lay buried under layers of different peoples who invaded the Iberian Peninsular (伊比利半岛)(now Spain and Portugal), bringing their respective cultures with them.

Most bullfighters are male but there are also a few female bullfighters. In the Oscar for best screenplay awardwinning film, "Said to Her", the Spanish actress Rosario Flores show people a strong and brave female bullfighters image.
In the next stage, the tercio de banderillas, the three banderilleros each attempt to plant two banderillas, or sharp barbed sticks, into the bull's shoulders. The banderillas further weaken the bull but also anger it, cause it to make more ferocious charges. Sometimes the matador places his own banderillas.
