Whether a news program or TV series, the information we receive plays a major role in our daily life. Besides, some popular social programs, such as “Where are we going? 关于电视影响英文作文

关于电视影响英文作文英文:Television has a significant impact on our lives. Asfor me, I believe that television has both positive and negative effects on individuals and society. On the one hand, television can be an excellent source of entertainment and education. For instance, documentaries and news programs can provide us with valuable information about different cultures, places, and events around the world. Moreover, television shows and movies can be a great way to relax and unwind after a long day of work or study. On the other hand, excessive television watching can have negative effects on our health and social life. For example, sitting in front of the TV for long hours can lead to obesity, eye strain, and other health problems. Additionally, watching too much TV can isolate us from our family and friends, and prevent us from engaging in otheractivities such as sports, reading, or traveling. In my opinion, the key is to find a balance between watching TV and other activities. We should not rely solely on television for entertainment and information, but also explore other options such as outdoor activities, socializing, and reading. Moreover, we should be mindful of the content we watch on TV, and avoid shows or movies that promote violence, discrimination, or unhealthy lifestyles. In conclusion, while television can be a great source of entertainment and education, we should be aware of its potential negative effects and strive to find a balance in our TV viewing habits.

Television has been an integral part of our daily lives for decades, providing entertainment, education, and information to millions of viewers worldwide. The influence of television programs extends beyond mere amusement; they shape our perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. This essay will explore the multifaceted impact of television on society, including its role in shaping cultural norms, promoting education, and the potential negative effects on viewers.Firstly, television plays a significant role in shaping cultural norms and values. Through various shows, viewers are exposed to different lifestyles, traditions, and beliefs, which can broaden their understanding and acceptance of diversity. Sitcoms and dramas often reflect the societal issues of the time, sparking important conversations and debates. For instance, shows like "Friends" and "Modern Family" have contributed to the normalization of various family structures and have promoted a more inclusive perspective on relationships.Secondly, educational programs on television have been instrumental in fostering learning and curiosity among viewers. Documentaries, educational series, and children's programs like "National Geographic," "The Magic School Bus," and "Sesame Street" provide valuable information in an engaging format. These programs not only entertain but also educate, making learning accessible and enjoyable for peopleof all ages. However, the impact of television is not entirely positive. The medium has been criticized for promoting negative stereotypes, violence, and materialism. The portrayal of violence in action shows and movies can desensitize viewers, particularly young audiences, to real-life aggression. Additionally, the constant exposure to idealized body images and lifestyles can lead to unrealistic expectations and self-esteem issues, especially among impressionable youth. Moreover, excessive television watching can lead to a sedentary lifestyle, contributing to obesity and other health problems. The "couch potato" lifestyle associated with prolonged television viewing is a genuine concern for public health officials. In conclusion, television programs have a profound impact on society, influencing our culture, education, and personal development. While they have the potential to educate and entertain, it is crucial to be aware of the potential negative effects and to consume television content mindfully. Parents and educators should guide children in making informed choices about the programs they watch to ensure a balanced and beneficial viewing experience.。

Conversation 1M: Welcome to Money Matters - a weekly program that helps you manage your money. Tonight, I'll be talking to Mary Johnson about budgeting.W: Hello, everyone.M: There's a magic about money, when it's not planned for, tracked and kept the record of, it literally disappears. What are some of the steps we can take to prevent this from happening?W: Well, it's all about keeping track of your money. If you don't do that, you'll never be able to set any goals for your budget or have the discipline to stick to them.M: That's easier said than done. I read recently that only 41% of Americans adhere to a budget.W: Yes, but knowing what you earn and what you spend can give you reassurance that you won't get into debt in the first place. You can do this by adding up all of your sources of income you have, and writing them all down on a piece of paper. On the same page, write down all of your monthly expenses.M: I'm always amazed at how much my expenses add up.But designating each item asan income or an expense really helps me have a much better sense of all my spending. W: Right. Most people have no idea how much they spend each day, let alone each week or month, no matter how careful they are. Next, subtract your monthly expenses from income. If the result is positive, you are living within your means. If the result is a negative number, you're going to have to cut back on your spending.M: I'm usually a negative number. I just can't resist the allure of all those prestigious goods.W: Well, it's not a catastrophe, but you do have to make some changes. Try cutting back on those non-essential items, sell some stuff in your attic or shop online to avoid unnecessary temptations like chocolate. Failing that you can always find yourself a part-time job.Q1: What does the man say about the weekly program?Q2: What did the man read recently?Q3: What does the woman suggest the man do first to avoid getting into debt?Q4: What does the woman say about online shopping?Conversation 2M: Hi there. I've come to see the flat. My name is Mark Adams. We spoke on the phone on Wednesday.W: Hi Mark. Come on up. I'll buzz you in green door, on the second floor on the right side. Nice to meet you. I spoke to all your references and they all checked out Okay.So let me show you around the place actually belongs to my mother, but her health isn't great. So we finally managed to persuade her to move in with us and rent this old place out.M:It's a great size, plenty of space, very versatile. I think it's a winner for us.W: Yes. All the appliances are brand new. There's a washing machine and a tumble dryer in the utility room next to the kitchen.M: Lots of closet space two, which is fabulous. My wife has a ridiculous number of shoes. Now, the big question What about noise and the neighbors?W: Well, all the neighbors are elderly, so no noisy kids and the back of the house overlooks a clear and peaceful pond. So it's perfect. If tranquility is what you are looking for.M: That's good news. We've been living in a less than glamorous part of Aberdeen, constantly harassed day and night by noisy neighbors. Getting to work was a nightmare too. As we only have one car. And my wife has to use it as she works nights at the hospital.W: Well, if you like the place it's yours. As soon as I get a contract drawn up with the solicitor, the first month's rent and a deposit are mandatory on signing the contract, then we can work out when is the best day for you to pay rent each month? M: We'll be incredibly happy to be your new tenants. Thank you so much. My wife will be thrilled to get out of the shabby place we are now in and start filling those wardrobes with all those shoes.Q5: What does the woman say about the flat question six?Q6: What is the man's chief consideration in looking for a flat?Q7: What does the man have to do on signing the contract?Q8: Why does the man say his wife will feel very excited if they move into the flat?Passage 1A new study has found a positive correlation between how much television children watch and their parents stress levels. Why? Because the more television kids watch, the more they're exposed to advertising .The more advertising they see, the more likely they are to insist on purchasing items when they go with their parents to the store. This could generate conflict if the parents refuse. All that researchers say can contribute to parents overall stress levels. What's the solution ? Perhaps the most obvious is curtailing screen time.Commercial content is there for a reason :to elicit purchasing behavior, so parents might want to shut off the TV. Researchers can see that this is easier said than done. So they suggest another option. Parents can change how they talk to their kids about purchases. The researchers suggest that parents seek input from their children on family purchasing decisions. They shouldn't try to control all purchases. Instead, parents might tell their children things like: I will listen to your advice on certain products or brands. This type of communication, the researchers assert, can lead to children, making fewer purchasing demands- that means less parent stress. However, the protective effect of this kind of communication diminishes with greater exposure to television. This is because advertising aimed at children is especially persuasive. Advertisers use an assortment of tactics, such as bright colors, happy music and celebrity endorsements to appeal to children. Plus children don't have the cognitive ability to fully understand advertising's intent that makes them particularly vulnerable to advertisements.Q9: What has the new study found about children watching television?Q10:What are parents advised to do to reduce the impact of TV commercials?Q11: What makes children particularly vulnerable to TV commercials?Passage 2Everyone is supposed to cheer for good guys. And we should only punish the bad guys, but that's not what we always do. Most of the time we do indeed reward good people. We also often punish people who harm others or who aren't good team players, but sometimes the good guys also get punished or criticized specifically because they are so good. This seems baffling because it's detrimental to group cooperation. However, the phenomenon has been discovered in multiple fields and it has been found in every society. Why does this happen? Research suggests a simple reason when one person looks really good, others look bad by comparison. Those others then have an incentive in stopping that person from looking good, especially if they can't or won't compete. After all, we're all judged in comparison with others. When facedwith someone better, what can a normal person do? One option is to actively compete.A second option is to bring that person down that is to suppress their cooperation or work ethic, and first selfish motives for their actions or imply real or imagined hypocrisy. Other tactics include attacking them on unrelated dimensions or punishing them outright. Why does this matter? Critics often attack the motives of people who protect the environment, donate money or work too hard. Such good deeds are dismissed as naive or hypocritical by those who do not perform those deeds. This criticism may ultimately discourage people from doing good deeds.so it's important to recognize these attacks for what they are.Q12: What baffling phenomenon is discussed in the passage?Q13: How are we all judged according to the passage?Q14: What can a normal person do when faced with people who perform better?Q15: what may discourage people from performing good deeds?Lecture 1 雪萱In America, most researchers can see that boys and girls are brought up in different ways, taught different skills and rewarded for different acts. Women, it is agreed excel at certain tasks, men at others. There is little argument that some personality traits appear more dominant in one sex than in the other. All of this, not withstanding, gender differences are very much in the media these days. Since the rise of the women's movement, gender role behavior has come under closer scrutiny. How has this affected friendship? How do the sexes differ in theirfriendship relations? Most preteen children have a best friend who is usually some one of the same sex and similar age. Both sexes share an essentially positive recollection of these childhood friendships, they do not differ in this respect. However, the type of play engaged in during these early friendships is telling of the difference to come. Boys tend to form playgroups that are competitive in nature. Girls groups more frequently revolve around cooperative enterprises. Thus at an early age, boys become concerned with trying hard and winning, while girls by contrast play house and school, engaging in roles that require complimentary support. Speaking of their childhood, men recall being highly responsive to and aware of the gender role opinions of other boys. Girls in preteen years appear to be less susceptible to gender role pressure. It is not until the dating years that women report being concerned with feminine behavior. Males for the most part are responsive to the suggestion that their behavior is unmanly at almost any age. These early attitudes reinforced by social conditioning continue to play an active part in the friendships of both sexes during adolescence. This is a period when the majority of males, once again, report a close Alliance with same sex friends. Now, however, with heightened intensity, considerable energy is devoted to competing for position and a definite undercurrent of competition permeates the relationship. Although in dissimilar fashion, females share equally fragile relationships at this age. For them, the bond of loyalty extends only to the line of romantic involvement. This is most apt to be the case in late adolescence when dating and relationships with boys take sharp precedence over sisterhood. Actually dating dilutes the intensity of samesex friendships for men also. For the majority of us, the moment we begin to date seriously, there's a competition between romance and friendship.Q16: What does the speaker say about most preteen children?Q17: What do most males devote much of their energy to during adolescence?Q18: What do children do when they reach late adolescence?Lecture 2Good afternoon. In today's lecture, we'll be talking about how and when to disclose a disability when applying for a job. On average, about 20% of the population has some form of disability. Most countries these days have equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws, yet disabled people often find it hard to decide when, how, and if at all to raise their disability problem with a potential employer. There is uncertainty about how a recruiter will perceive their disability as such many candidates fear they wouldn't be considered for a position as a result of disclosing this personal information. And research has validated this as a genuine concern for many job applicants. It’s a natural reaction, but it shouldn't be a reason to stay quiet. People need to remember that they are applying for a position they have the skills and experience to.Discussing a disability with a potential employer may help them make reasonable workplace adjustments in their favor. It's most appropriate to discuss a disabilitywhen they reply to confirm an interview, this information needed to be put up front in their cover letter or resume. because it's probably not relevant to the position itself. Candidates with disabilities should feel they have the power to make their own decisions around sharing this information free from prejudice. If they find an organization that doesn't celebrate diversity and inclusion, it could say a lot about the company's culture, perhaps the organization isn't the right fit. It's important for them to. remember That they are seeking a manager, an employer that's going to be supportive and continue to give them a great employment experience. Companies sometimes offer candidates the chance to disclose disabilities on their application form, but people shouldn't feel restricted by this method or timing. People should avoid sharing the name of their disability or condition. There is always the risk that the recruiter will research inform that is inaccurate or irrelevant. If people don't think their disability will impact their ability to perform in the advertised position, then it's entirely their entitlement to choose when and whether to share this information.Q19: Why do disabled job applicants feel reluctant to disclose their disability information?Q20: When does the speaker suggest applicants reveal their disability information? Q21: What are people advised to do when filling out their job application form?Lecture 3Smartphones Distract attention and reduce learning because of their potential to offer activities more inviting than study. But what about background sound alone?A group of American researchers compared students' comprehension of verbal material when reading in the presence of background speech, instrumental music or general noise.General noise is neutral such as that from the sound of an air conditioner or fan. Student scores were most depressed in the presence of background speech. Comprehension was slightly better with the presence of music than with speech. However, when they were asked to identify melodies rather than understand text background music interfered more. When the background speech was in a language unfamiliar to participants, there was little, if any hindrance of reading comprehension.British researchers compared the effects of background speech, vocal music, instrumental music, general background noise and silence on short term memory. Background speech had the biggest negative effect. Vocal music was slightly more disruptive than instrumental. In general background noise and silence were least disrupt. It seems the degree of interference from background noise depends on the overlap between the processing required on the task and the processing required to screen out the background noise. The studies suggest that when people read and when they try to remember any verbal material, background speech will inhibit their ability.Instrumental music will have at worst a slight effect. When students write essays, however, other research has found it is best to reduce all background noise as much as possible. Not everyone reacts in the same way to distractions.Other studies suggest some aspects of personality may make a difference. The researchers subjected shy, quiet people and confident, outgoing ones to high arousal or low arousal background music, general noise or silence while asking them to remember words.Everyone performed best in the silent condition, but less sociable people were more negatively affected by each of the distractions. So when children are reading and trying to incorporate new material, parents could consider allowing some background music, particularly if it is instrumental and their child is the outgoing type.Q22: What did some American researchers find about students reading comprehension in the presence of background noise?Q23: What do we learn from the British researchers about the degree of interference from background noise?Q24: What is best for students to do when writing essays according to some research?Q25: How do people of different personalities react to distractions according to other studies? 1.C) It helps people with budgeting.2.D) Most Americans do not stick to a budget.3.A) Keep track of his money.4.B) It helps avoid unnecessary spending.5.C) It belongs to her mother.6.B) Tranquility.7.B) Pay the first month's rent and a deposit.8.D) She will have plenty of space for her shoes.9. Television has become an integral part of our daily lives, providing entertainment, information, and education. While there are often discussions about the negativeeffects of television, it’s crucial to recognize its positive impact as well. In this essay, I will explore how television can be a force for good, contributing to education, cultural awareness, and even promoting social change.Educational Tool。

One of the most significant benefits of television is its role in education. Channels like National Geographic, BBC, and Discovery offer a wide range of programs that educate viewers on various topics, from nature and wildlife to history and science. These programs make learning accessible and engaging, reaching audiences thattraditional educational methods might not. For instance, children can learn about the solar system through animated shows, while adults can delve into complex historical events through documentaries. This form of visual learning can often be more effective and memorable than traditional textbooks. Moreover, educational television has been used to bridge the gap for those with limited access to schools or other educational resources. During the COVID-19 pandemic, television played a critical role in delivering education to students worldwide, with many schools utilizing broadcast-based learning to continue teaching during lockdowns. This demonstrates how television can be a versatile and powerful educational tool, especially in challenging circumstances.Cultural Awareness and Empathy。

While some may argue that television only has negative effects, such as promoting violence and encouraging unhealthy habits, there are also some positive aspects to consider. One of the most obvious benefits of television is its ability to educate. Documentaries and educational programs can teach us about a wide range of topics, from history and science to art and culture. Television can also be a powerful tool for raising awareness of important social issues, such as poverty, hunger, and environmental degradation.Television can also be a source of entertainment and relaxation. After a long day at work or school, many people enjoy watching their favorite TV shows or movies to unwindand forget about their worries. Television shows and movies can expose us to different cultures and perspectives, helping us to become more tolerant and understanding of others. Television can also be a catalyst for conversation, as people often discuss their favorite shows and movies with friends and family.Of course, there are also some negative aspects to television. One of the biggest concerns is that it can be addictive. People who spend too much time watching television may neglect other important aspects of their lives, such as work, school, and relationships. Television can also be a source of unhealthy habits, such as eating junk food and staying up late at night.Another concern about television is that it can promote violence and aggression.

Television has been a significant part of our lives since its inception, and its impact on the English language and culture is undeniable. The following essay explores the various ways in which television programs influence the English language and its speakers.Firstly, television programs play a crucial role in shaping the vocabulary and colloquial expressions used in everyday conversations. Through popular shows and series, viewers are exposed to a wide array of linguistic expressions, slang, and idioms that they might not encounter in formal education. This exposure can lead to the adoption of new words and phrases, enriching the language and making it more dynamic.Secondly, television has the power to influence accents and pronunciation. For instance, American and British television shows have global audiences, and their accents are often mimicked by non-native speakers. This can lead to a more standardized form of English being spoken worldwide, which can be beneficial for communication but may also lead to the loss of regional accents and dialects. Moreover, television programs often reflect and perpetuate societal norms and values, which in turn can influence the language used by viewers. Characters in TV shows can become role models, and their way of speaking can be emulated by the audience. This can lead to the normalization of certainlanguage patterns and the stigmatization of others.Furthermore, television can also be a powerful tool for language learning. Educational programs designed for language acquisition can help learners practice listening and speaking skills in a controlled environment. Additionally, watching TV shows in English can provide learners with a more immersive experience, helping them to understand the nuances of the language and cultural references. However, the impact of television on the English language is not without its drawbacks. The casual and sometimes informal language used in TV shows can lead to a decline in the use of formal language in professional and academic settings. Additionally, the reliance on visual cues can sometimes lead to a lack of clarity in spoken language, as viewers may not fully understand the context without the visual component. In conclusion, television programs have a profound impact on the English language, influencing vocabulary, pronunciation, and even language acquisition. While it can be a valuable resource for learning and cultural exposure, it is also essential to maintain a balance between informal language from TV and the formal language required in various professional and academic contexts. As television continues to evolve, so too will its influence on the way we communicate and understand the world around us.。

Television has become an integral part of our daily lives, serving as a source of entertainment, information, and connection. However, the impact of television on our mental well-being, particularly in relation to stress, is a topic that deserves closer examination. In this essay, we will explore the various ways in which television can influence our stress levels and the potential implications for our overall well-being.One of the primary ways in which television can contribute to stress is through the content it presents. Many television programs, particularly news and current affairs, often focus on negative or sensationalized events. Constant exposure to reports of natural disasters, violent crimes, political turmoil, and other troubling occurrences can lead to a heightened sense of anxiety and stress. The feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of bad news can be overwhelming and can contribute to a sense of helplessness or loss of control. Moreover, the fast-paced nature of television programming and the constant barrage of visual and auditory stimuli can also be a sourceof stress. The rapid transitions between scenes, the sudden changes in volume, and the overwhelming amount of information presented can be mentally taxing, especially for individuals who are already prone to anxiety or have difficulty processing large amounts of stimuli. This can lead to feelings of irritability, difficulty concentrating, and even physical symptoms such as headaches or muscle tension.Another way in which television can impact stress levels is throughits influence on our sleep patterns and daily routines. Many people have the habit of watching television right before bedtime, which can have a detrimental effect on their sleep quality. The blue light emitted by television screens can disrupt the body's natural circadian rhythms, making it more difficult to fall asleep and leading to a less restful sleep. This, in turn, can contribute to feelings of fatigue, irritability, and decreased cognitive function, all of which can exacerbate stress levels.Furthermore, the sedentary nature of television viewing can also have negative implications for our physical and mental well-being. Spending excessive amounts of time sitting in front of a television screen can lead to a decrease in physical activity, which has been linked to a higher risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and other health problems. These physical issues can then contribute to a decline in overall mental health and an increase in stress levels. However, it is important to note that the impact of television on stress is not entirely negative. In some cases, television can serve as a source of relaxation and stress relief. Watching certain types of programs, such as comedies or nature documentaries, can help to reduce feelings of anxiety and promote a sense of calm. Additionally, television can be a valuable tool for connecting with others, as shared viewing experiences can foster social bonds and provide a sense of community. In conclusion, the impact of television on stress is a complex and multifaceted issue. While television can be a source of entertainment and information, it can also contribute to increased stress levels through its content, its influence on our daily routines, and its impact on our physical and mental well-being. To mitigate the negative effects of television on stress, it is important to practice moderation, seek out positive and uplifting content, and maintain a balanced lifestyle that includes regular physical activity and sufficient sleep. By being mindful of the ways in which television can affect our stress levels, we can work to create a healthier and more balanced relationship with this ubiquitous technology.。

In recent years, there have been an increasing number of stars and celebrities who endorseproducts of various brands on television. I have no strong words against stars and celebritiesendorsements for businesses, which give a great impetus to the development of the market. However,it turns out that some of the produces they have endorsed are inferior goods or fake products. Thefalse advertisements made by some stars and celebrities have misled many consumers and arousedgreat dissatisfaction among the public.Stars and celebrities should play a positive role in our social life sicne they enjoy great popularityand credibility in the society. However, some stars and celebrities lack social responsibility. They areso money-minded that they disregard the negative effects of the TV advertisements they make on thesociety. For example, a famous actor earned 2 million Yuan for his TV advertisement of a weight-reducing tea, which proved to be exaggeratedly claimed. The misleading remarks made by such starsand celebrities not only harm consumers but also their own credibility. There is a big debate on stars and celebrities making TV commerce advertising. In my opinion, starsand celebrities should value their credibility and image in front of the public and assume their socialresponsibility by constraining themselves morally and legally. Besides, departments concerned shouldexercise strict supervision over TV advertisements and inflict severe punishment on those stars andcelebrities whose misleading contents in the advertisements produce serious adverse consequences.(242 words)最近几年,越来越多的明星名人在电视上为厂商打各种品牌产品的促销广告。

POSITIVE EFFECT OF REMAKE TV SERIES
1. Protect cultural heritage
Nowadays, many classics have been remade again and again, for example, the dream of Red mansions, have been remade more than 19 times at home and abroad. From this fact, we can know the importance of the original works. And the reason why the classics stand firmly forever among the forest of literature works is their widely-spread influence. Classics as a product of the age, they must have carried human spirit, features and cultures of that period. People nowadays are not supposed to forget those treasures that once appeared on the history of our nation. Li Shaohong, the director of remake TV play the dream of Red mansions, once said, “The remake TV plays is a process of rereading and continuous explanation. And the true essence lies in the inheritance and culture rescue. Once we stop doing this, our cultural property is very likely to be invaded by other cultures, such as American drama, or forgot by people nowadays. ”However, we teenagers are more focused on foreign pop culture, and the “culture rescue” is seem to be a necessity. I believe, with the development of technology, these obscure classics can find a clear way to explain from various angle points of view.
2. Carry forward classics
In 1998, Chinese famous heroine story Hua Mulan had been remade by American film maker Disney. And the film also blew up American’s desire about Chinese classics. In the long run, the remade classic TV can carry forward the classics. Today we are in an era of information explosion, with mass information and books, classics have become less magnetic to teenagers. How to guide them back to classics themselves is a matter that we must focus on. However, images on the screen are the most effective way. A survey shows that 2 out of 10 people have read the dream of Red mansions because of the remade TV series. So in this way, classics can be
more popular.
3. Boom Chinese TV market
China has become the world's largest consumption of television power, and the economic benefit, driven by China’s TV market, has loomed large in recent years.
Careful study shows that in 2010 alone, over 50% of classical TV plays in China were reproduced as new versions and the remake TV series occupied lots of domestic market share. Zhang Jizhong, a famous director, said when he was shooting Dragon Buster, “We are very satisfied with the return of this play. Now we have recollected more than 10 million yuan though unfinished, but the total investment for this play was just 30million yuan”. On the one hand, the low-cost, low-risk and great return make the “remaking hot”phenomena. On the other hand, the “remaking hot”has directly injected a profitable cash flow into the TV market. We all know that cash flow to the TV industry is what the blood to human beings. It is the backbone of the whole industry, and without it, the TV market shall be inanimate, we TV viewers may lost much fun that TV plays bring to us including TuTsau, the directors may lost their passion to promote their skills for better versions of classics. And I believe, with time elapsing, the whole TV market can be worse and worse. So the remaking hot can booming Chinese TV market.。
