2010年海地地震发生后，乐队在MFR官上开设了一个叫做“捐赠下载”的页面，支援海地地震的救灾重建工作，只要有人为海地捐献了一定数目的善款，他就可以下载一张名为《Download to Donate for Haiti》的音乐合辑。乐队创作了歌曲《Not Alone》，将其作为其中的曲目供捐款者下载。
1996年，身为学校同窗的主唱麦克·信田与吉他手布莱德·德尔森在麦克的卧室兼迷你录音室录下第一首歌，两人随后结识了鼓手罗伯·巴登，他们三人均为高中校友。高中毕业后，麦克·信田在帕萨迪纳艺术中心设计学院结识了DJ约瑟夫·韩；布莱德·德尔森在加州大学洛杉矶分校结识了贝斯手大卫·菲尼克斯·法雷尔以及主唱马克·维克菲尔（Mark Wakefield），六个人初步组建为Xero乐队（林肯公园前身）。
2000年发行首张新金属风格录音室专辑《混合理论》（Hybrid Theory）。2003年发行第二张录音室专辑《流星圣殿》（Meteora）。2007年发行第三张录音室专辑《末日警钟：毁灭·新生》（Minutes to Midnight），从这张专辑起林肯公园开始转型，在音乐风格上与前两张专辑有了很大的区别，曲风开始变得流行化，减少了金属在歌曲中的比例。

2001年，林肯公园被邀请与众多艺人参加Ozzfest巡演。之后，乐队也组织了自己的定期巡演——工程革命（Project Revolution）。6月，参加“Rock Am Ring”2001摇滚音乐节。同年年底，华纳兄弟推出《混合理论》的双张全球庆功版，其中添加了乐队的演出现场录音，以及两首歌曲《My December》和《High Voltage》。
