The story took place a long time ago. But it was repeated over and over again. Everyone was moved by the true story.
An old man was knocked down by a car and taken to the hospital. He was badly hurt and called his son many times when he regained consciousness several times.
No one knows where his son is. A dirty letter was found in his pocket.. The nurse found out that his son was a soldier from North Carolina. The hospital called the Red Cross office to find the young man. The young soldier rushed to airport and caught the plane in time.
It was night when the soldiers arrived at the hospital. A nurse took him to the old man's bedside.
"your son is here," she said to the old man. She had to repeat before the old man opened his eyes. He felt very comforted to see the young man vaguely. He stretched out his hand, and the young man held the old man's hand and said things full of hope.
The young soldier sat by the bed all night, and the nurse tried to take care of him and was turned down by him.
The old man died at the dawn. The nurse began to comfort him, but the soldier asked her: "Who is that?"
