For the development of extensively networked CAN systems in motor vehicles, DaVinci Network Designer CAN provides the optimal environment for the design of the network architecture and communication data. This design serves as the basis for all subsequent development steps such as system simulation, configuration of ECU-specific software, detailed ECU tests and network analysis.
Application Areas
DaVinci Network Designer CAN is the central tool in the development process at automotive OEMs and suppliers of ECU-specific software. It is used to create communication data, either for individual CAN buses or for entire CAN systems with multiple buses and gateway ECUs.
Functions
The convenient and intuitive user interface gives you quick access to communication data, which you can also define and edit efficiently. This is supported by different views of the data – hardware topology, communication data of the CAN networks, global signal lists, signal routing via gateways, etc.
> Create hardware topologies for vehicles and vehicle models based on ECUs and networks
> Define communication signals consistently. The signals can be used in all networks and on all vehicle projects.
> Create the communication relationships between the individual ECUs in a CAN-specific Network Explorer

Consistent Data Maintenance
The DaVinci Network Designer manages any number of CAN communication objects of a vehicle project, vehicle model series or OEM in a single XML-based data repository. Central data management offers decisive advantages such as data consistency and reusability. This is important for an optimized development process, where smooth interactions between the various development departments and suppliers is demanded.

Iterative Design Process
DaVinci Network Designer CAN supports an iterative design process. New projects can be created by making specific changes and extensions to existing, tested and released projects. The individual design steps (creating the hardware topology, signal definition and distribution to the CAN frames, description of time behavior, etc.) can be performed independently of one another.
