My Hometown's Four Seasons
Hi everyone! My name is Li Ming and I'm 10 years old. I live in a city called Hangzhou in the eastern part of China. Hangzhou has four very different seasons - spring, summer, fall, and winter. I'm going to tell you all about the seasons in my pretty hometown!
Spring
Spring is one of my favorite times of year in Hangzhou. The weather starts getting warmer after the cold winter. The temperature is usually between 50-70°F (10-21°C). Everything starts blooming with colorful flowers.
One of the best parts of spring is seeing all the beautiful peach blossoms. Peach trees line many streets and parks. Their pink and white petals are so delicate and pretty! I love going on walks with my parents to look at the blossoms.
Another fun spring activity is flying kites. The breezes are perfect for kite flying. Lots of families bring their kites to parks and open spaces. Kites of all bright colors and shapes fill the sky. Some are simple diamond kites while others look like dragons or birds!
Spring also means time for the Qingming Festival. Families get together and visit ancestors' graves to show respect. We clean the gravesites and leave offerings of food, flowers, and burn incense and paper money. It's an important tradition.
Summer
Summer is the hottest season in Hangzhou. Temperatures usually range from 75-95°F (24-35°C). The humidity makes it feel even hotter and stickier.
A great way to cool off is by eating fresh fruit and drinking icy treats. Popular summer snacks are lychees, mangoes, watermelons, and popsicles. My friends and I always get so excited when the neighborhood ice cream truck comes around playing its happy jingle!

It's a really pretty place with mountains, forests, rivers, and rice fields. The seasons are very different from each other and I love watching how everything changes throughout the year. Spring
Spring is when everything starts waking up after the long winter sleep. The weather gets warmer and warmer each day. All the plants and trees start growing new leaves and flowers bloom everywhere. I love the pink peach blossoms and the yellow rapeseed flowers covering the fields. They smell so sweet!
In the spring, my grandpa gets busy planting crops like rice, vegetables, and fruits in his fields. He has a big garden too where he grows all sorts of yummy things. My favorite is the fresh strawberries that ripen in late spring. They're so red, juicy and delicious!
Spring is a magical time when lots of baby animals are born too. We have cuddly lambs, adorable chicks, and cute piglets on my grandparents' farm. I love watching the baby ducks

Summer

Autumn
Fall is my favorite season because of all the beautiful colors everywhere. The trees turn bright red, orange and yellow. It looks like the hills are on fire! I love running through the piles of fallen leaves, listening to them crunch under my feet. Sometimes my friends and I rake them into big piles and jump right into the middle. We always end up laughing and covered in leaves!
In autumn, my grandparents are busy harvesting all the crops from their fields. They pick huge orange pumpkins, red juicy tomatoes, plump eggplants, and lots of other yummy veggies. I follow my grandma into the markets in town where she sells the fresh food we've grown. The market is always so busy and colorful in the fall.
One fun activity in autumn is collecting different nuts, seed pods, berries and leaves from the forests and fields. I have a special box where I keep all my treasures. Some look like little animals or creatures! At school, we often use our treasures in arts and crafts projects.

Spring

Summer

Winter
Last but not least, there's winter! The first snowfall of the year is always so magical. Everything looks so clean and bright blanketed in fresh, white snow. My siblings and I rush outside to catch the fluffy snowflakes on our tongues.
Snow days are the best days of winter! When there's a big snowstorm, school is canceled. We spend all day outside sledding, making snow angels, and building snowmen and snow forts. I love having big, friendly snowball fights with my brothers. Even when we're absolutely freezing, we never want to go inside!
Another fun winter tradition is cutting down our own Christmas tree. We go to a special tree farm covered in acres of pine trees. We walk around sipping hot chocolate, looking for the perfect tree. Once we find it and cut it down, we load it onto the car and bring it home to decorate. Our tree always looks so pretty decorated with lights and ornaments!
Winter evenings mean cozying up inside by the fireplace. We sip mugs of steaming hot chocolate loaded with marshmallows and watch the flickering flames. Sometimes we make smores or bake cookies too. Are you getting hungry just thinking about it?
Of course, winter also means bundling up in all of our warmest clothes - winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens. I have a fuzzy pink hat and matching mittens that are my favorites. They keep me toasty warm for snowball fights!

Spring
Spring is when everything starts to wake up after the long winter. The plants and trees start growing new leaves and pretty flowers bloom everywhere. The weather gets warmer and people wear lighter jackets instead of big coats.
One of my favorite things about spring is all the baby animals being born. Tiny lambs and calves appear in the fields. Little chicks and ducklings follow their mommies around. The birds return from their winter vacation spots and build nests to lay their eggs. Everything seems so new and alive in spring!
Another great thing is all the fun activities we can do again after months stuck inside during winter. My friends and I love playing outside - riding our bikes, jumping on the trampoline, and having picnics in the park. Spring is also when sports like baseball, soccer, and tennis start up again.
The only downside of spring is allergies. My nose gets really stuffed up from all the pollen in the air when plants start

My absolute favorite autumn activity is jumping into the huge piles of fallen leaves that gather in our backyard. My friends and I spend hours just tossing the leaves into the air and crunching through them on the ground. It's the best natural playground!
Halloween is another highlight that only comes around in autumn. Getting to dress up as your favorite superhero, princess, or scary monster and go trick-or-treating for candy is unbelievably exciting. Carving pumpkins into different silly or spooky faces is really fun too.

Winter means bundling up in cozy sweaters, scarves, and mittens to stay warm when the temperatures drop below freezing. When it snows really hard, sometimes school even gets canceled for a bonus day off to play in the winter wonderland.
The only thing I don't love about winter is the biting cold wind that turns my nose and cheeks bright red within minutes outside. And the slippery ice that makes me fall down a lot. But the fun of winter definitely outweighs those downsides!

My Hometown and the Four Seasons
Hi, my name is Anna and I'm going to tell you about the four seasons we have in my hometown. I live in a small town called Riverdale. It's a really pretty place with lots of trees, parks, and a big river running through it. The seasons are very different
throughout the year and I love watching how everything changes.
Spring
Spring is one of my favorite times of year in Riverdale. After the cold, snowy winter, it starts to get warmer in March and April. The snow and ice begin to melt away and you can see the green grass peeking through. The trees that looked bare and dead all winter start to grow new leaves again. My mom says they are "budding."
Pretty soon, there are leaves on all the trees and they look so green and alive. Flowers also start blooming, like tulips, daffodils, and crocuses. Their bright colors are so cheerful after the dull winter. My favorite flowers are the cherry blossoms that bloom on the big cherry trees in the park. They only last a couple weeks but they are just beautiful while they are there.
In the spring, baby animals are born too. You'll see little lambs, calves, chicks, and bunnies in the farms around town. They are super cute! The birds also come back from their winter vacation somewhere warmer. You can hear them singing their cheerful songs in the morning. Spring makes everything feel fresh and new after being stuck inside all winter.
Summer
After spring, summer arrives in Riverdale. This is definitely my favorite season! School is out so my friends and I have tons of time to play outside and have fun. The summer weather is amazing - sunny, hot, and perfect for swimming, biking, having picnics, or really anything outdoors.
My friends and I spend as much time as we can swimming and playing at the river or Lake Avalon on the edge of town. The water feels so refreshing and nice when it's hot out. We also like to go on long bike rides on the trails through the forest on the other side of town. Everything is so green and leafy during the summer months.
One of the biggest events in Riverdale every summer is the Sunflower Festival in late July. Our town has huge fields and fields of sunflowers that bloom. People come from all around to walk through the sunflower mazes and take pictures. They are so tall - way above my head! The bright yellow flower petals are just beautiful.
Of course, summer also means lots of ice cream, popsicles, lemonade and other cold, sweet treats. We need them to stay cool when it's sizzling hot outside. Sometimes we get thunderstorms which are kind of scary with all the lightning and
loud thunder. But they help keep things cooler so we don't mind too much. Summer nights are great for outdoor movies at the park or catching fireflies. I wish summer could last forever!
Autumn
Unfortunately, summer has to end and autumn comes to Riverdale every year around September. This season is also called "fall" because that's when the leaves start falling off the trees. It's fun playing in the big piles of fallen, crunchy leaves. My friends and I love jumping right into them!
As the leaves start changing colors, the whole town looks like a painting with red, orange, yellow, and brown trees everywhere. Some leaves turn bright red or crimson, while others are more orange or golden yellow. It's so pretty seeing all the different colors, especially when the sun hits the leaves a certain way. We like collecting the most colorful ones to bring home and put on the refrigerator.

Spring
After the long, cold winter, spring is when things start waking up and coming back to life. The weather gets warmer and the plants start growing again. I love seeing the first flowers bloom, like tulips, daffodils, and crocuses popping up. The trees grow new green leaves and everything looks fresh and pretty.
In the spring, my family likes to go on walks and hike in the forests and parks near our house. We look for animals like squirrels, rabbits, and birds making their nests. Sometimes we even see baby animals with their moms! My favorite is finding robin's bright blue eggs.
At school, we learn about how the longer days and warmth cause plants to start growing again after winter. We go outside and watch for the trees budding. We also learn why some

Summer
Summer is definitely the warmest season where I live. The hot temperatures mean we get to do lots of fun outdoor activities! The fall season is when the weather starts cooling down again. The summer heat goes away and it becomes nice and crisp outside. This is when the leaves on the trees start changing colors - amazing reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. They are so beautiful! My dad rakes them into big piles that my brother and I can jump into and play in.
In fall, we go to a pumpkin patch and pick out the perfect pumpkins to carve for Halloween. I love scooping out the gooey insides and making a funny or scary face on the pumpkin. We display our carved pumpkins on our porch to help celebrate the holiday.
For Thanksgiving in late fall, my whole family gets together at my grandparents' house. We eat a huge turkey dinner with all the trimmings like mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for dessert. It's one of my favorite meals all year! After eating, us kids run around and play games while the adults watch football.
Winter
Finally, there's winter - the coldest season where I live. We usually get our first snowfall sometime in December. I absolutely love waking up and looking out to see everything covered in a beautiful white blanket of snow! It's like the whole world is sparkling and brand new.
As soon as there's enough snow, my friends and I bundle up in our warmest coats, hats, scarves, mittens, and boots. We go outside and have huge snowball fights. We also use our sleds to race down the big hill at the park. Making snow angels is fun too by flopping backwards into the soft powder.
At Christmas time, my family cuts down a real evergreen tree and decorates it with lights and ornaments. We hang up stockings, make hot chocolate, and listen to cheerful Christmas music. On Christmas morning, I can't wait to see what presents Santa brought for me!
On the days when it's too freezing to play outside, I like to stay inside and build snowy scene with my Legos or read books by the fireplace. Sometimes we'll bake batches of warm cookies like chocolate chip or sugar cookies. Mmm they make the whole house smell delicious!
Those are my favorite parts about each season where I live. While they are all fun, I can't wait for spring and summer to come
