but但是,表转折;if如果;when当……

由文章最后一段“Today, I have become good at English...

share experience with sb.

at在…… 方法;in在……里;on在……

encourage sb. to do sth.

couldn’t不能……;could能,可以;must必须;mustn’t禁止。

由后文“Then I got a book with the words of all the songs.

read the book读这本书,这里的书特指前文“Then I got a book with the words of all the songs.”

If如果;After在……之后;Before在……

share with分享;depend on取决于;shout to对……大喊;compare with和……相比。

由“...what you have learned over the years”……

由“Time and tide(岁月)wait for no
man.

由“come true实现”提示可知此处说的是“wish祝愿”,come true常和hope,with搭配,表示愿望成真,故选C。

It’s + adj. + for/of sb. to do sth.

由“One can change, but only if he or she wants to.

Michael最后说的是自己的祈祷内容,根据Michael以前的祈祷内容“... to give me the strength to change the world”和“... to give me the strength to change people around me”可知,谓语动词用“change改变”,故选B。

由“Then, all of the balloons were ______2______ and put in another room”提示可知气球要先“被收集”起来才能被放到一起,且气球和“collect收集”是被动关系,所以要用collect的过去分词形式collected,故答案为collected。

根据前文“Then, all of the balloons were ______2______ and put in another room”可知气球都被放到了另一个房间,所以演讲者要把小组“带过去”,选择单词lead,又全文时态为一般过去时,所以用lead的过去式led,故答案为led。

通过“He told each person to find the balloon that had his or her name within five minutes.”

由“... the speaker asked each person...try to find the person whose name was written on it.”

根据“Everyone is busy looking for their own happiness, not caring what happens to others.”
