Step 1Warming up
Show some pictures of food and drink and ask students to say them in English.

Step 2Pre-listening
1．Show some pictures of the food, drink and meat on the screen, then ask the students what they like to eat and drink，and show some words and expressions about food and drink to them.
2．Show the pictures of fruit and vegetables and ask students to say them in English. Students speak out what they are as they look at the pictures as fast as possible.
Step 3While-listening
1．Listen and check the food and drink Betty and her mother have got. 2．Listen and complete the table in Activity 5.
Step 4Reading & Practice
1．Ask the students to read the dialogue in Activity 5 and understand its main idea.
2．Ask the students to read the dialogue in pairs.
3．Choose two pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.
Step 5Pronunciation & Speaking
Play the tape twice and tell the students to listen and pay attention to the pronunciation and pauses. Then, play the tape once more and pause for the students to repeat.
