课时目标
1．能理解日记中描述小猫生长过程的句子。

2．能说出小猫生长变化的时间。

3．能正确使用be动词、to have句型、can句型来描述动物的变化。

4．通过观察，能简单描述小动物，以达到学以致用的目的。

教学重难点
1．重点：能理解They still can't see. Their eyes are openl They can walk/play with Robin! They are pink because they are very young. They have white fur now.They make noise when they are hungry.等句子。

2．难点：能抓住对比句子来理解动物的生长过程。

教学过程
一、热身（Warm-up）
1.Sing the song When is your birthday?
2．翻唱When is your birthday?教师将歌曲中的生日日期加以改动，然后让学生齐唱。

3．Let-s play -气呵成。

12个人为一组，按1～12月份的顺序进行口语交流。

活动方式：第一个问第二个，第二个回答完问第三个，以此类推，一气呵成。

将第一个生日日期设定为：一月一日；第二个为二月二日；第三个为三月三日，以此类推。

如：
Sl:My birthday is on January lst. When is your birthday?
S2:It's on February 2nd. When is your birthday?
S3:1t's on March 3rd. When is your birthday?
S4:1t's on April 4th. When is your birthday?
S5:1t's on May 5th. When is your birthday?...
二、新课呈现（Presentation）
1．Read and write
(1)教师介绍Sarah's diary。

T:Today I'll introduce Sarah's diary. She has two new kittens. They are small cats. What colour are the kittens on April 15th? How old are the kittens on April 21st? When can they walk? When are their eyes open? Let-s read the diary.
(2)学生阅读理解并回答问题。

请学生阅读日记，然后选择最佳答案。

在学生回答的基础上，教师做介绍。

教师边介绍边将对比的句子呈现在黑板上。

学生一边阅读一边理解以上句子。

(4)教师讲解语言难点，然后请学生逐句跟读。

①They make noise when they are hungry.当它们饿时，会发出吵闹声。

②The kittens are six days old.小猫才出生6天。

(5)阅读后指导朗读。

(6)教师播放录音，学生听，再一次帮助学生理解日记。

(7)请学生用be 动词、情态动词can 和to have 句型来描述动物。

如：I have a new cat. It-s six months old. He can walk and play with me. He has white fur. He-s cute.
2．Read and match.
请学生独立完成Read and match部分的连绒练习，同桌核对后，全班同学共同核对。

3. Now write two sentences about the kittens. ,
请学生模仿课本例句写一写有关小猫的句子。

如：Their eyes are open on April 26th.
They can walk on May 3rd. They can play with Robin on May 3rd.
4．教学Story time
(1)教师播放Story time的录像，请学生四人一组讨论“为什么Zoom -直拒绝别人的邀请？”引导学生理解“1 want to practice the song”的中文意思。

在学生阅读的基础上，请学生回答问题，并解释Zoom要练习唱歌的原因。

( 2)讲解短语“Don't worry.”和“Practice makes perfect.”的中文意思。

(3)教师播放Story time录音，学生跟读三遍。

三、巩固与拓展（Consolidation and extension）
活动：演一演，说一说
请学生戴上Zoom和Zip面具，分别扮演Zoom和Zip角色。

注意提醒学生模仿Zoom 和Zip的声音及形态，看谁表演得逼真、语言模仿得到位。

四、家庭作业（Homework）
1．完成Read and write的配套练习。

2．向同学描述一下你领养的QQ宠物。

广闻博知
世界各地民族风俗不同，过生日的方式也不同。

巴西人过生日的食品是糖果。

冰岛人过生日常吃带蜜饯的薄饼。

英国人过生日全天庆祝。

在学校里，过生日的孩子常被抓住胳膊
和脚脖举起来，每年一次，预示长高。

荷兰的孩子们过生日，得到礼物的同时，还要把礼物分给别人。

在墨西哥，生日那天要尽可能早地致以祝贺，以图吉利。

过生日的人常常在半夜被祝寿的朋友叫醒。

印度人过生日有着宗教色彩，人们必须在黎明前祈祷和祝福。

泰国人在生日前的夜晚要点燃两支长蜡烛，一支同过生日者一样高，以求长寿。

如果过早熄灭，则是不详之兆。

教后反思
本课的重点是培养学生阅读与理解能力。

我先从介绍入手，让学生在听的过程中理解文本的主要内容；接着通过说的操练，也就是回答问题，让学生充分理解宠物的生长过程；再通过“请学生模仿课本例句写一写有关小猫的句子”的活动，完成了学生听、说能力到书面表达能力的过渡。

本堂课的教学环节由浅入深，循序渐进，达到了事半功倍的效果。
