Unit 2 They're waiting for buses or trains.
Step 1Lead­in
Show some photos of what people are doing at present and have a short conversation with students.
(详见素材一导入二)
Step 2Reading
1．Teach the new words in Unit 2 by using PPT.
2．Ask the students to read the words and expressions in Activity1 and match them with the pictures, then talk about what the people are doing.
3．Tell the students to read the passage in Activity 2 carefully and finish the table.(详见素材二)
4．Have the students read the passage again and finish Activity 3.
Step 3Practice
Work in pairs.
1．Show a map of the world. Tell the students the time in different places of the world. 全世界共分24个时区，每15度为一个时区，英国的格林威治为零时区，北京为东8区。

推算方法：东加西减。

2．Ask and answer: What time is it in different places of the world?
3．Find out what time it is now in London, Moscow, Beijing, New York and Los Angeles. Write sentences about what people are doing or aren't doing. Join sentences with and or so.
In London, it's… and people are leaving… In Beijing, it's…， so people aren't…
Step 4Writing
Write Betty's postcard to her grandma from the Great Wall.
Start like this: Dear Grandma，
say what she's enjoying.
Say what she's doing now.
Finish like this: Love, Betty
One possible version：
Dear Grandma，
Greetings from the Great Wall!
I'm standing on the Great Wall of China and writing this postcard to you. We're on a school trip and we're having a good time. At this moment, Wang Hui is taking lots of pictures and Lingling is buying some presents and postcards. We're enjoying the school trip a lot. See you soon!
