Physical Layer Specifications: l Physical layer work officially considered closed in 3GPP l Still many change requests with corrections to specifications Layer 2/3 Radio Protocol Specifications (MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC): l RAN2 specifications reached 80% completion level at RAN#39 (Mar’08) l On track for 100% completion of all specs by RAN#41 (Sep'08) incl. early version of RRC ASN.1 (to be frozen latest in Dec'08) RF Performance Specifications for UE/BS: l Work ongoing on transmitter and receiver requirements System Architecture Evolution (SAE), Non-access stratum (NAS) signalling: l SAE stage 2 concepts frozen with some exceptions in June 2008 l SAE stage 3 expected to be completed by December 2008 MBMS largely moved to release 9
