议论文话题十三经济、消费与幸福感
1.the growing gap between (the) rich and (the) poor正在扩大的贫富差距
‼️在这个短语里，把两个the写出来或者省略两个the都可以，都是地道、常见的英文
（1）low-income families低收入的家庭
（2）live in poverty 生活在贫困当中
（3）live below the poverty line 生活在贫困线以下
（4）high-income families 高收入家庭
（5）reduce income inequality 减少收入不均
‼️当表示不平等的现象时，地道英文里常会用到inequality这个名词。

例如：income inequality（收入不均）和gender inequality （性别的不平等）
2.are overpaid收入过高
‼️对比：
（1）should be better paid 应该得到更高的收入
（2）should be better appreciated 应该得到更多的认可（3）should be better appreciated and better paid应该得到更多的认可和更高的收入
3.reduce poverty减少贫困
（1）create jobs创造就业
（2）reduce unemployment 减少失业
（3）narrow the gap between (the) rich and (the) poor缩小贫富差距
4.consumer society崇尚消费的社会
（1）consumer culture崇尚消费的文化
‼️按地道英文的习惯，这两个短语里面的consumer 都不用所有格
（2）international trade国际贸易（名词短语）
（3）technological innovations 科技的创新（名词短语）（4）the demand for new products对于新产品的需求（名词短语）
（5）have more shopping choices（消费者们）有更多的购物选择
（6）more affordable consumer goods价位更合理的消费品（7）improve people's standard of living提高人们的生活水平
（8）create more jobs创造更多的就业
（9）increase the government's tax revenue增加政府的税收5.become too materialistic变得过于物质化的，只在乎物质享受的
‼️比如：韩寒的粉丝说郭敬明的粉丝too materialistic（过于物质化的），郭敬明的粉丝则说韩寒的粉丝too idealistic （过于理想化的）

（2）money and possessions金钱和财产
（3）become easily dissatisfied with what they have很容易对自己己经拥有的东西感到不满足，不知足
（4）become selfish and greedy 变得自私而且贪婪
6.develop unhealthy spending habits形成不良的消费习惯（1）buy things on impulse / buy things impulsively冲动地购物
（2）use credit cards irresponsibly 不负责任地“刷卡”
‼️use.. irresponsibly 是一个很有用的结构，我们还可以写出 use natural resources irresponsibly, use water irresponsibly 等地道短语
（3）find themselves deeply in debt发现自己深陷于债务当中‼️对比：
（1）save for the future为将来储蓄（注意：并不一定非要写save money forthe future )
（2）use credit cards responsibly负责任地使用信用卡（3）develop healthy spending habits形成良好的消费习惯（4）manage their budget well管理好他们的预算
（5）have a sense of financial responsibility在财务方面具有责任感
（6）improve their money-management skills提高他们的理财技能
e more natural resources使用更多的自然资源
（1）use more energy消耗更多的能量
（2）cause damage to the environment对环境造成破坏（3）create more waste and pollution产生更多的废料和污染‼️这个短语里的waste 不是指浪费，而是垃圾、废料的意思

（2）designer clothing 名牌服装
‼️这个看似简单的短语，其实才是表示“名牌儿服装”最地道的英文短语
（3）expensive mobile phones昂贵的手机
（4）equate wealth with happiness 把财富等同于快乐

（2）fame and wealth 名望和财富
‼️对比：
（1）cooperation and sharing合作与分享（名词短语）（2）maintain a good work-life balance保持工作与生活之间的合理平衡

对家庭和工作的强烈责任感
（4）have a steady source of income有一份稳定的收入来源（5）have a healthy lifestyle遵循健康的生活方式
（6）do volunteer work / do voluntary work做义工
（7）make donations to charities为慈善组织捐款

10.charity（复数：charities）/ charitable organisation慈善机构
（1）provide help to people in need向贫困的人们提供帮助（2）make generous donations进行慷慨的捐赠。
