它于2003年10月15日9时发射,将航天员杨利伟送入太空,标志着中国成为继前苏联(现称俄罗斯)和美国之后,第三个有能力自行将人送上太空的国家。
搭载物品:除了中国飞天第一人杨利伟外,“神舟”五号载人飞船返回舱内还搭载有一面具有特殊意义的中国国旗、一面北京2008年奥运会会徽旗、一面联合国国旗、人民币主币票样、中国首次载人航天飞行纪念邮票、中国载人航天工程纪念封和来自祖国宝岛台湾的农作物种子等。
“神舟”五号飞船是在无人飞船的基础上研制的中国第1艘载人飞船,乘有1名航天员一杨利伟。
飞船在轨道运行了1天。
整个飞行期间为航天员提供必要的生活和工作条件,同时将航天员的生理数据、电视图像发送地面,并确保航天员安全返回。
