《Unit 9 How many?》第六课教案
1.Uncle Booky’s storytime
Student Book page 36
Tell the children to open their books at page 36. Draw their attention to the pictures. Explain that these pictures tell a story about numbers.
Ask questions about the pictures. Have the children talk about the story and what they think each character is saying.
Say, “Now we are going to listen to what the characters say.” Play the tape. Tell the children listen to the story, pointing to the matching pictures.
Tell the children to look at each speech bubble. Ask them to find out the words they know. Encourage them to guess the meanings of unfamiliar words.
Play the tape of the whole story again. This time have the children touch the speaking character.
2.One potato, two potatoes...
This is a traditional English rhyme. It is used as a selection procedure. It can be used to decide which child has first turn in a game or to form pairs. (The first two children chosen form a pair. Continue until all the class are in pairs.)
Write the words on the board.
Chant the rhyme, taking care to stress the correct syllables as you do so. Point to each word as you say it.
Have the children practice chanting the rhyme, a few words at a time. Make sure they use the correct stress pattern.
Have the children all chant the entire rhyme without stopping.
Have the children stand in circles and each hold out a fist. You can vary the number of circles according to the class size. Choose one child to stand in the
middle of each circle. The child i n the middle is the “teller”.
Have the children chant the rhyme again, but this time have the “teller” in each circle go around the circle touching the children’s fists in time to the beat. The child who is touched on the word “MORE” is the chosen one.One potato, two potatoes, three potatoes, four. Five potatoes, six potatoes, seven potatoes, MORE!
