A 4-minute complete workout is no longer hard to believe for all the people who have bought our excellent Range of Motion Machine (ROM) since 1990. Over 97% of people who rent our ROM for 30 days end up buying it, due to the health benefits experienced during that tryout and the ROM performance score that tells the story of health and fitness improvement. At under 20 cents per use the 4-minute ROM exercise is the least expensive full body complete exercise a person

of ROM machines go to private homes, but we have a few that are in commercial use for 12 years and they have endured over 80,000 uses each, without need of repair. The ROM 4-minute workout is for people from 10 to over 100 years old and highly trained athletes as well.
The ROM balances blood sugar, and repairs bad backs and shoulders.

The Book of Life
So far, scientists have named about 1.8 million living species (物种(wùzhǒng)), and that’s just a small number of what probably exists on Earth. With so many plants, animals, and other living things covering the planet, it can be tough to figure out what type of grass is growing by the roadside or what kind of bird just flew by.
A soon-to-be-started Web site might help. An international term
of researchers has announced the creation of Web-based Encyclopedia (百科全书(bǎikēquánshū)) of Life (EoL). The project aims to list every species on Earth in a single, easy-to-use reference guide.
To get the encyclopedia started, the creators will use
information from scientific databases (数据库) that already exist. And eventually, in special sections of the site, non-scientists with specialized knowledge will come to help. Bird-watchers, for example, will be able to input what birds they’ve seen and where. To make
sure the encyclopedia is accurate, scientists will review much of
the information added to it.
As the EoL develops, you might find it useful for school projects. The site will feature (以……为特色) special pages for kids who are studying ecosystems in their neighborhoods. Another convenient
feature of the EoL is that you’ll be able to pick the level of
detail you want to see to match your interests, age, and knowledge.
It now takes years for scientists to collect all the data they need to describes and analyze species. The creators of the Encyclopedia of Life hope that their new fool will speed up that process.
60. The Web based EoL aims to __________.
A. fine out what covers the earth
B. list all living things on Earth
C. work out the number of birds
D. save the existing plants
61. One characteristic of the EoL is that _________.
A. it provides different levels of information
B. it focuses on different types of grass
C. it is run by school students
D. it allows non-scientists to review its data
62. In the last paragraph, “that process〞 means ________.
A. analyzing species
B. collecting data
C. creating a new tool
D. describing species
C
Camping wild is a wonderful way to experience the natural world and, at its best, it makes little environmental influence. But with increasing numbers of people wanting to escape into the wilderness, it is becoming more and more important to camp unobtrusively (不引人注目(yǐn rén zhù mù)地) and leave no mark.
Wild camping is not permitted in many places, particularly in crowded lowland Britain. Wherever you are, find out about organizations responsible for managing wild spaces, and contact them to find out their policy on camping and shelter building. For
example, it is fine to camp wild in remote parts of Scotland, but in England you must ask the landowner’s permission, except in national parks.
Camping is about having relaxation, sleeping outdoors, experiencing bad weather, and making do without modern conveniences.
A busy, fully-equipped campsite (野营地) seems to go against this, so seek out smaller, more remote places with easy access to open spaces and perhaps beaches. Better still, find a campsite with no road access: walking in makes a real adventure.
Finding the right spot to camp is the first step to guaranteeing a good night’s sleep. Choose a campsite with privacy and minimum influence on others and the environment. Try to use an area where people have obviously camped before rather than creating a new spot. When camping in woodland, avoid standing dead trees, which may fall on a windy night. Avoid animal runs and caves, and possible homes of biting insects. Make sure you have most protection on the windward side. If you make a fire, do so downwind of your shelter. Always consider what influence you might have on the natural world. Avoid damaging plants. A good campsite is found, not made---changing it should be unnecessary.
63. You needn’t ask for permission when camping in ___________.
A. crowded lowland Britain
B. most parts of Scotland
C. national parks in England
D. most parts of England
64. The author thinks that a good campsite is one ____________.
A. used previously
B. with easy access
C. with modern conveniences
D. far away from beaches
65. The last paragraph mainly deals with__________.
A. protecting animals
B. building a campfire
C. finding a campsite with privacy
D. camping in woodland
66. The passage is mainly about____________.
A. the protection of campsites
B. the dos and don’ts of wi ld camping
C. the human influence on campsites
D. the importance of wild camping

Before a new type of airplane goes into service, every part of
it is tested again and again. But there are two tests that are more important than all the others.
The first is called the “tank test〞. A modem airplane must fly very high in the sky. Air must be pumped into the plane so that the passengers can breathe. The metal structure (构造(gòuzào))of the plane has to be very strong for this reason. When the plane is
filled with air, the air presses against the skin of the plane inside. The pressure (压力) on a small window is like a huge foot
that is trying to get out. If a small part of the plane were to fail, the plane would explode in the sky. To test the structure of the plane, the plane is lowered into a huge tank or container of water. Then it is filled with air. The pressure inside the plane is greater than it ever will be when it is high up in the air. Finally, there
is an explosion. This does not cause so much damage inside the water tank as it would anywhere else. Engineers can discover which part of the plane has broken. Then that part is made stronger.
The most dangerous test happens when the new plane is going
through test flights in the air. The test pilot must find out
exactly what happens when the engines (发动机) are all shut off at once. The plane begins to fall like a stone. It is the pilot’s job to find out how he can get control of the plane again. These two tests are examples of how planes are made safe before they ever carry passengers.
67. By doing the “tank test〞, the engineers can find out
__________.
A. the amount of air in the plane
B. the pressure inside and outside the plane
C. the strength of the plane structure
D. the power of the airplane engines
68. What will happen to the plane under the “tank test〞?
A. It will be tested by pilots.
B. It will be made stronger.
C. It will be filled with water.
D. It will be broken.
69. According to the text, why are test flights most dangerous?
A. The pilot may lose control of the plane.
B. The plane may explode in the air.
C. The engines may be damaged.
D. Too much
air may get into the plane.
70. What might be the most suitable title for the text?
A. The Danger of Testing Airplanes
B. The
Importance of Flying Safely
C. How Airplanes Are Made and Tested
D. Two Important Tests on Airplanes
第二节〔一共5小题(xiǎo tí);每一小题2分,满分是10分〕
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项里面选出能填入空白处的最正确选项。

项里面有两项为多余选项。

71 One of the best things you can possibly do is to start
you own club. It’s great fun especially if you are the sort of
person who feels there’s never anything to do during the school holidays.
The first thing you need to come up with is an idea for your club.
72 Pets, clothes, pop music or dancing groups, sports, making
things? The list is endless.
Next you need some friends to be in your club with you. 73
All you need is three or four other people who are interested in the
same thing as you.
74 You should all sit down somewhere together with lots of pieces of paper and write down every name you can think up. That’ll keep you busy for ages.
At your first meeting you should make up a rule book. And the
first rule should be no grown-ups or little/big brothers / sisters! The best clubs are always secret!
Now you have just about everything you need, except membership cards. These are very important and again you can speed a lot of time making them. 75 Why not leave some space for a photo of yourself? That will make the membership card really look like it.
So there you are, get clubbing! Once you get started you’ll
think of loads of more interesting things to do!
A. That’s easy.
B. Enjoy your own club!
C. Invite a designer to join you.
D. What are you interest in?
E. Some vacation is just around the corner.
F. Then you need to pick a name for your club.
G. Use bright thick pens to make a special design.
