I read an article about people living in the e-age yesterday. It talks about different ways of communicating like chatting online (在线), sending e-mails, sending different kinds
of messages and keeping an online diary.
The article says that people send e-mails at least once a day. I do not agree with this because I send e-mails only twice a week. However, I do check my e-mails once a day. I like receiving e-mails.
About chatting online, the article says that chatting online is becoming more and more popular among teenagers. I think this is true. Whenever I get home, I turn on my computer and chat online with my friends. I prefer chatting online to calling a friend, because I can chat with many friends at the same time.
I also like using mobile phones. When I do not have my computer with me, I can send short messages to my friends. I like keeping in touch (保持联络) with them in this way.
I keep an online diary four times a week. I like telling others what has happened to me.
I think I am one of the people living in the e-age. I can’t live without computers or mobile phones.
What about you? Can you live without computers or mobile phones?

Look at the old “man”. He looks like the famous scie ntist Einstein. It is a robot which is made by American scientists. Although the Einstein robot has only a head and two shoulders, it is very clever. It can not only know people’s feeling, but also tell people’s age and sex. It can even make some simple human actions, such as shaking the head.
Some scientists hope to make more robots just like humans. They want to make more robots that are kind, understanding and caring about others. “It is very interesting to make such kinds of robots. We also hope they are as clever as us,” the famous scientist Hanson said. But it is very hard to make such kinds of robots, because the cleverer the robots are, the more difficult they will be controlled. So the American students chose the head of the famous scientist Einstein because he was a peaceful and kind old person. This kind of robot is very expensive. It costs about 75 thousand dollars to make one Einstein robot. Hanson hopes one day the cost can be only 200 dollars.
