As a high school student, Ive always been an avid reader, and one of my favorite pastimes is to delve into the world of books. Reading has been a significant part of my life, shaping my thoughts, broadening my horizons, and providing me with a wealth of knowledge. This essay is a reflection on my reading journey, particularly focusing on the impact of literature on my personal growth and development.
Growing up, I was surrounded by books at home. My parents, both lovers of literature, instilled in me the importance of reading from a young age. I remember the first book that truly captivated me was The Little Prince by Antoine de SaintExupéry. The story, with its profound messages about love, friendship, and the nature of adults, resonated with me deeply. Science fiction has also been a genre that has piqued my interest. Works like 1984 by George Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley presented dystopian futures that challenged my thinking about society, technology, and individual freedom.
