托福写作范文
Much to the chagrin of the youth, we often hear older generations complaining that people nowadays indulge themselves in pleasure, neglecting what they should do, in much the same way that they complain about the rise in the price of a cup of coffee. Are we spending too little time on what we should do? I, personally, believe the opposite.
First and foremost, it should be specified that enjoyment is a necessary and indispensable part of our lives, or, in other words, it is what we should do. To be more specific, laboring under intense competitive pressure all day every day, we should put aside a little time for recreation and pleasure, which relax and re-energize
ourselves, which is not an experience all people of older generations share, considering that they did not face such intensity when it comes to pressure at work. For example, a significant portion of young people follow a daily working schedule known as “996”, working six days a week and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.each day, quite unheard of in the olden days. So what do they do on the one day that is free? Naturally they would, and rightly so, choose to rest or pursue their interests.
Furthermore, there is the question “how much is too much”. In my opinion, excess cannot be measured in absolute terms, but in terms of how well young people finish what they should do. That is to say, they can spend every minute, nay, second, of spare time on the pursuit of leisure so long as they are able to finish the assigned tasks professionally, expertly, and timely. Thankfully, they do, in no small part due to the wider selection of technological assistance they can utilize nowadays. For example, doing literary review or compiling a case file in a law firm, which used to take three days because people had to sieve through a hill-like pile of paper files, only takes a click of the mouse nowadays because everything is stored in the online database. So, naturally, much more could be accomplished in three days. Having finished all the assigned works quickly, achieved more objectives than specified, it is only natural that young people should be rewarded, or reward themselves, by doing what they like in their free time.
In conclusion, based on the arguments specified in the paragraphs above, it is hardly surprising that I do not sympathize with the original argument at all.。
