So Max and Charley, accompanied by my mom, began their mission.The sound of the truck receding渐远渐弱, Max and Charley, picturing the tasty/yummy ice cream, set off at a brisk pace ahead, and my mom brought up the rear跟在最后. However, after they trotted for three blocks in the blazing sun, there was still neither hide nor hair of the truck. Max and Charley, encouraged by my mom, walked another three blocks. The street was roasting under the burning hot sun, which gradually dampened their newly-kindled enthusiasm. Head drooping, Max grumbled about the long distance they had covered and the faint hope. At that critical moment, the familiar clang came to their ears just like a spring of fresh water in a desert. Eyes sparkling with hope, they sped up and caught up with the icecream truck. Licking the dream ice cream--a sheer bliss
纯粹的幸福on a hot summer day, the boys chuckled in a very contented and satisfied way. Hearing the chuckles and giggles from Max and Charley, my Mom couldn’t help but think that such a chasing experience could drill the pet phrase“Never give up”into their mind, motivating our efforts to challenge the destiny.
So Max and Charley, accompanied by my mom, began their mission. Driven by the prospect of having delicious ice-cream, the two kids scampered ahead蹦蹦跳跳地跑so fast that my mom could hardly follow. Not knowing which direction the truck had taken, they had to inquire passers-by on the way. Having walked three blocks, my kids felt their tiny legs as heavy as lead and their faith in the mission began to waver摇摆. “We should give up.” They wondered out loud, “We have been walking pretty far and still can’t see the truck yet.”“Never give up! The truck should be around here.” my mom said determinedly. So, they walked on, chanting Mom’s pet phrase.
Max and Charley, encouraged by my mom, walked another three blocks. Suddenly, my mom seemed to hear the familiar clang of the bell. “Listen, the ice-man’s bell!” shouted my mom excitedly. They immediately rushed to where the sound came from. Sure enough, the moment they turned around the corner, the ice-cream man’s truck came into view. They quickly caught up and bought the ice-creams. Licking the ice-cream cones, the two kids finally tasted the joy of success. At that moment, my mom had done for my kids what she had done for me countless times. Simple though/as it was, that phrase has become our battle cry战斗口号for the challenges we face.。
