Unit 3 Travel Journal Base Implementation Expansion and Recitation Lesson Plan:
Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1.Understand and practice writing a travel journal in English
2.Learn to use the past tense to document their experiences
Materials Needed:
1.Sample travel journals
2.Student notebooks
3.Pen or pencil
Lesson Outline:
I.Introduction (5 minutes)
A.Introduce the lesson by discussing why it is important to document our travel experiences
B.Show examples of travel journals from other authors
II.Writing Activity (15 minutes)
A.Guide the students through writing their own travel journal entry. Ask them to think about their current trip, if any, and write about one specific experience
B.Students should use the past tense when writing their journal entries
C.Guide the students through revising their entries and have them share with a partner
III.Discussion (10 minutes)
A.Lead a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of
keeping a travel journal
B.Encourage students to talk about their own experiences with documenting travels
