Period Five Writing—Writing a journal entry
写作指导
本单元的作文是写一篇英语日记，英语日记一般记录一天发生的事件或自己感受最深的事，可分为记事、议论、描写、抒情等。

写英语日记要注意下面几点：
一、格式
日记由书端和正文组成。

书端指写日记的星期、日期和天气，顶格写在左上角，先写星期，然后写日期，最后再写天气。

(例如：Tuesday February 26th,2019Sunny)
二、时态
谓语动词多用一般过去时态，但是要根据具体情况使用其他时态。

三、写正文时应注意的问题
1．围绕一个主题来展开。

2．若无法用已学语言知识来表达某种意思，可采用“同义转换法”。

3．结尾最好用一句话来总结自己的感想或体会。

常用表达
1．Today，I found something strange with...
2．I just want to share...
3．That’s what I saw on the newspaper.
4．In my opinion，nowadays，...
5．I think there are some reasons contributing to this phenomenon.
6．Firstly，...Secondly，st but not least...
假设你是李华，今天(星期三，3月20日，晴)在公园散步时遇到一个外国人来旅游。

你和他进行了交流。

请围绕这个事情写一篇英语日记。

要点如下：
1．想跟他谈话却不知所措。

2．你向他介绍你的城市。

3．他向你提供了一些学习英语的建议。

注意：
1．词数80左右；
2．可以适当增加细节，以使行文连贯。

审题
写作要求是介绍自己在公园散步时偶遇一个外国人，想与之交谈，练练自己的英语口语。

写作时应注意下面几点：
1．确定文体：这是一篇日记。

写作时注意日记的格式。

2．主体时态：文章应以一般过去时为主。

3．主体人称：由于是日记，所以人称应该以第一人称为主。

谋篇
第一段：开门见山，简要介绍自己在公园偶遇一个外国人。

第二段：具体介绍两人交谈的情况。

第三段：进行评论和总结。

句式升级
1．用when引导的时间状语从句和分词作宾补把句1、句2和句3合成一个句子
This morning when I was taking a walk in the park，I saw a foreigner enjoying the beauty of the park.
2．用so...that...把句4和句5合成一个句子
I was so excited and nervous that I didn’t know what to do and how to start a conversation. 3．用形容词短语作状语把句6和句7合成一个句子
Eager to practise my spoken English，I encouraged myself and went to say hello to him.
用适当的过渡词语，把以上词汇和句式，再加上联想内容，组成一篇80词左右的英语短文。
