(2019·湖北八市高三联考)In what's believed to be a first London's Imperial College Business School is using holographic technology (全息技术)to present lectures to students. From California a product manager was beamed onto a stage like magic. The head of Imperial's EdTeeh Lab says, this presents a window to the world.Through holograms(全息图)we can bring in lectures from across the globe, and they can appear in front of our students in a realistic manner. That's the key.
The developer of the technique explains how it works.“We're presenting a 2D image as a 3D image, and the iris(虹膜) is flat so we see everything in 2D. Our brain changes it to 3D. We're doing exactly the same trick. We're presenting a 2D image but with depth of field and a really good vision. My brain just changes it to a 3D image.” Attendees say there are many ways this tool can help educators and students.
The second thing we could do with that is having CEOs coming to the classroom, and engaging with students. And the third way probably is maybe to have Albert Einstein coming to the classroom. There might be a long wait for that. Meanwhile, master student Josephine Collins says she prefers the interaction a hologram lecture offers compared to those presented online.
I wouldn't mind it. I think it's very interesting if we can have access to different lectures and different things like guest speakers. That's something I would definitely enjoy. Developers say the cost of holographic technology has dropped considerably since the days it was used mostly in bigbudget music shows making it possible for educational institutions to afford it.
4.According to this passage, holographic technology mainly benefits________.
A.health care B.commerce
C.education D.agriculture
5.How does holographic technology work?
A.Our sight upgrades a 2D image into a 3D image.
B.Our brain transforms a 2D image into a 3D image.
C.The developer presents the lectures online.
D.The iris is so flat that we see images in 2D.
6.Compared to the lectures presented online, a hologram
lecture________.
A.brings Albert Einstein back to life
B.allows the lecturer to interact with students
C.is more moneysaving for educational institutions
D.is more available whenever and wherever you are
7.What is the author's attitude towards holographic technology?
A.Ignoring. B.Compromising.
C.Approving. D.Disagreeing.

(2019·武昌高三调研)The Mandarin( 普通话)speaking figure spins around a 360degree restaurant scene in an artificial
intelligencedriven instruction program that looks like a giant video game.Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students testing the technology move inside the 12foothigh projection(投影)to order virtual bean curd from the panda waiter, chat with Beijing market sellers and practice Tai chi by mirroring moves of a watchful teacher.
“Definitely less anxiety than messing it up with a real human being,” says Rahul Divekar,a computer science graduate student.“So
compared to that anxiety, this is a lot more easy.”
The Mandarin Project is a joint enterprise of RPI and IBM.Cognitive and Immersive Systems Laboratory researchers are developing a sort of smart room that can understand students' words, answer their questions and observe their gestures.Lessons are presented as games or tasks, like ordering a meal.
Divekar orders Peking duck—“Beijing kaoya”—and the panda fetches the virtual dish.Divekar says the food is good—“Cai hen hao chi”—but he can't pay the bill.No problem, the panda replies—“Ni keyi xi pan zi”—you can wash the dishes.
Other scenes include an outdoor market and a garden, each a hightech twist on cultural immersion.
“Our plan is to complete several scenes of real life in China,to let the student be able to have a virtual trip over there,”says Hui Su,director of the lab at RPI.
Tests on the room with students studying Mandarin will continue this school year as they work on additional scenes, including an airport.A sixweek course is being readied for the summer.
The Mandarin Project is notable for its scale and complexity. Computers interpret speech and gesture to keep a dialogue going. When a student points to a picture and asks “What's that?” computers can come up with an answer.Still, language teachers need not fear for their jobs just yet.Developers of the Mandarin Project say it isn't advanced enough right now to completely replace classroom instruction.
RPI president Shirley Ann Jackson foresees the same type of technology being applied to other spaces, such as corporate boardrooms.“We're not at the end of the line,” Jackson says,“but closer to the beginning.”
8.What is the advantage of learning via the Mandarin Project?
A.It is thrilling. B.It is relaxing.
C.It is effective. D.It is demanding.
9.How do students learn Chinese in the Mandarin Project?
A.By doing tests in the smart rooms.
B.By learning from language teachers.
C.By playing video games with Chinese.
D.By conducting tasks in designed situations.
10.Which of the following scenes is to be developed?
A.Ordering food.
B.Practicing Tai chi.
C.Waiting at the airport.
D.Buying things in a market.
11.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.Language teachers will be jobless soon.
B.The technology has a promising future.
C.The technology has come to an end.
D.More foreigners will learn Chinese.

(2019·安徽五校联盟质量检测)Weather could power the next generation of smart windows.Researchers have created glass by harvesting energy from wind and precipitation (降水).The approach offers an alternative to other smart windows powered by batteries, solar panels, and even standard power outlets.“The creation represents a new kind of
renewable energy source,” says Liming Dai,a nanomaterial engineer at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,Ohio, who was not involved in the research.
Smart glass, which changes its characteristics to block out light, has been around for mon examples include glarefighting rearview (后视) car mirrors and windows that change color for energy savings and privacy. But many are expensive, and people are still looking for ecofriendly ways to power the windows. Batteries and plugin outlets aren't apparently “green”,and builtin solar panels can cloud or hide parts of the glass.
In experiments, the glass produced up to 130 milliwatts per square meter, enough to power a pacemaker or a smart phone while it's asleep, the team reported online last month in ACS Nano. This output might suit many applications, such as being a power source for home or office electronics, says codeveloper and scientist Zhong Lin Wang of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.Since their first project in 2012,a lightup sidewalk powered by footsteps,he and his colleagues have miniaturized their generators to create everything from
selfcleaning keyboards to sensors for security systems.
But Wang and his colleagues still have more work to do before this smart glass is ready for commercialization. Now,the glass has no way to store the energy it creates. To solve this problem,Dai says, transparent super capacitors (电容器) could be placed into the glass without decreasing visibility.
For now,the team wants to improve the energy efficiency of their nanogenerators. These tiny power plants can convert about 60% of the mechanical energy that they encounter into electricity.“The output power is a constant goal,” Wang says.“Free energy surrounds us,and anything can happen if you take control of it.”
12.What is unique about the smart glass?
A.It can protect privacy.
B.It is more expensive.
C.It is powered by weather.
D.It can block out light.
13.What is the main idea of Paragraph 3 ?
A.The research history of Zhong Lin Wang.
B.The experimental process of Zhong Lin Wang.
C.The research theory of Zhong Lin Wang's team.
D.The experimental findings of Zhong Lin Wang's team.
14.What is the drawback of the smart glass?
A.It cannot keep its produced electricity.
B.It cannot suit the super capacitors.
C.It cannot power a smart phone.
D.It cannot change its color according to weather.
15.Which of the following best explains “convert” underlined in the last paragraph?
A.Consume. B.Transform.
C.Waste. D.Reserve.

第二处:your 改为my 。

from the bottom of

第四处:being 改为been 。

根据时间状语从句since you...China 可知,此处应用现在完成时,故将being 改为been 。

第五处:from 改为to 。

国,故用to 。

第六处:and 改为but/yet 。

第七处:There 改为It 。

第八处:so 改为such 。

so +adj .+a/an +单数可数名词=such

注意:1.词数100左右;

Dear Michael,
Yours,
Li Hua

Dear Michael,
How is everything going?①I'm glad to know that you are interested in Chinese culture and that you want to know something about my family tradition.②My grandparents and parents always lay emphasis on the importance of honesty, bravery, perseverance and diligence. And most importantly, they have set good examples to me.My family tradition has a profound influence on me,and thus I always follow what it has taught me.Besides,I am always positive and never stop chasing my goal whenever I run into difficulties.
By the way,I sincerely invite you to come to China and stay in my home for some time to experience more Chinese culture by yourself.
