Good morning, everyone. Today, I would like to share with you a story from an English picture book that I read recently. This story is about a fifth-grade student named Lily and her journey to overcome her fear of public speaking.
Lily was always a shy and quiet girl who preferred to
blend into the background. However, when her teacher announced that there would be a public speaking competition
in school, Lily knew that she had to face her fears and participate. Despite her nerves and self-doubt, Lily decided
to take a leap of faith and sign up for the competition.
As the days passed, Lily worked hard to prepare her speech. She practiced in front of the mirror, her family, and even her pet cat. With each rehearsal, Lily gained more confidence and started to believe in herself. She realized
that she had a voice worth sharing with the world.
On the day of the competition, Lily felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. As she stepped onto the stage and looked out at the audience, her heart raced. But as she began to speak, something magical happened. The words flowed from her heart, and she found herself speaking with passion and conviction.
To her surprise, the audience listened intently as Lily shared her thoughts and ideas. She felt a sense of empowerment and pride, knowing that she had conquered her fear and proven to herself that she was capable of anything.
