Lesson 4 In the Evening
This is the fourth part in this unit. The main topic is conversation practice, so improving the students’ abilities of listening and speaking on application knowledge in real life is very important.

Step 1. New words
dinner 晚餐
wash 洗;洗漆
dish 盘子

mom ( = mum)母亲

Step2. Listening and vocabulary
1.Play the recording and ask the students to listen and check how many words they heard.
2.Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear.
3.Check the answers with the whole students.

Step 3. Listen and read
Revision
1.Let's review.
After dinner, I wash the dishes. 晚饭后,我洗盘子。

Then I do my homework. 然后做作业。

2.Listen and repeat the text again, then ask some groups to act it out. Ask some students to correct the wrong ones.
3. Put the students into groups of four to practice the dialogue. The students repeat it several times, changing roles each time.
4. Ask the students to sum up the useful sentences in the dialogue and introduce “Everyday English.”
Step 4. Pronunciation
1.Explain that this activity focuses on some English phonemes which are difficult to pronounce
for speakers of Chinese.
2.Play the recording once without stopping.
3.Play it again and ask the students to repeat.
4.Practice the sounds in pairs, then choose one correct option finish the exercises on the PPT. Step
5. Speaking
Work in pairs.
We have dinner at six thirty. 我们六点半吃完饭。

Would you like some soup? 你想喝汤吗?
Yes, please. 是的。

After dinner, I help my family. 晚饭后,我帮助家人。

I wash the dishes. 我洗盘子。

I do my homework. 做作业。

I write a story. 写故事。

We watch TV together. 我们一起看电视。

I go to bed at nine o'clock. 我九点睡觉。

What do you do in the evening?
运用本课句型,在规定的八分钟时间内,以小组为单位,看谁沟通交流的最流利,她将获得一份丰厚的奖品。

Step 7. Language points
1.Would you like some soup? 你想喝汤吗?Yes, please. 是的。

“would you”翻译为“你想”,“would you like”表示礼貌的询问他人,可以用“Yes, please. ”表示接受或“No,thanks.”表示拒绝。

Step 8. Consolidation
1.Practice the sentences with the given words.
2. Write down appropriate sentences to complete the dialogue.
Step 9. Homework
1.Do some exercises in exercise books.
2. Independent complete the sentences and words on the paper.
