Ⅰ.Analysis of the Teaching Material
Type of lesson: Read and write
This lesson is taken from PEP, Student’s Book 7 with the topic of “My weekend plan” .The story of Part B in this unit is about Wu Yifan’s diary of MidAutumn Festival, which is not only meaningful, but also includes some traditional culture about MidAutumn Festival. By reading, watching and thinking, students will be able to know more about China’s traditional culture and realize tha t as young English learners it is our responsibility to make China voice better heard.
Ⅱ.Analysis of the students
Students of Grade 6 have mastered a certain sum of vocabulary and some basic language skills, they can be guided to solve problems in reading. And in the previous lessons students have learned the useful language structures “be going to” which will be used frequently in this lesson. And pupils are full of curiosity and eagerness about China’s traditional culture which they are familiar with.

Knowledge aims
1.By reading the diary with the teacher, students will be able to read and write about the basic activities of people on MidAutumn Festival.
2.With the help of the teacher, students will be able to understand the acrostic poem in the reading material and get the core meaning “FAMILY.”
Ability aims
1.Students will be able to get the main idea and details of the passage by using different reading skills.
2.Students will be able to know more about China’s traditional festivals from different perspectives. Moral aims
1.Students will realize that we are from a great country which has a splendid history and promising future.
2.Students will finally realize that it is their duty to learn English well and make China voice better heard by the world.
