As a middle school student, I have always been asked to strike a balance between being thrifty and spending money. It's a tough challenge, but I believe it's important to learn the value of money and how to manage it wisely.
On one hand, being thrifty is important because it teaches us to be responsible with our resources. For example, my parents always encourage me to save money by not buying unnecessary things. They often remind me that "a penny saved is a penny earned." This means that by being frugal and saving money, I am actually earning money in the long run. I have learned to be mindful of my spending and always ask myself if I really need something before making a purchase.
On the other hand, spending money is also necessary at times. For instance, when I need to buy school supplies or
new clothes, it's important to be willing to spend money on these essential items. As the saying goes, "you get what
you pay for," meaning that sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more for better quality. However, it's crucial to distinguish between needs and wants, and not to overspend
on things that are not essential.
