T-Rex skeleton hot on their trail. The actors did an amazing job bringing that bony beast to life through clever puppetry and sound effects. You could practically feel its thunderous footsteps shaking the auditorium as its jaws gnashed menacingly in pursuit.
I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't really going to gobble me up!
While the adventure was definitely the most fun part, I also loved all the interesting facts I learned along the way about ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. The witty banter between the friends was full of jokey asides explaining different artifacts they encountered. Even in their
panic, the characters managed to squeeze in some great educational tidbits that stuck in my brain. For example, did you know that the Rosetta Stone was the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs? Wow, what an exciting adventure I just went on! Our class took a field trip to see the short play "Escaping the British Museum" and it was sooo much fun. I'm still smiling just thinking about all the crazy things that happened.
The play started out pretty normal. There was a brother and sister named Sam and Sophia who went to the famous British Museum in London with their dad. They were really bored at first and didn't want to be there. I could totally relate! Whenever my
parents take me to museums, I get antsy after like 10 minutes. All those old artifacts and paintings are cool for a little bit, but then I just want to run around and play.
Anyway, Sam and Sophia were wandering around being bored when suddenly they discovered this weird ancient tablet covered in hieroglyphics. Being the mischievous kids they were, they started messing around and accidentally broke part of the tablet! Oh no! That's when things got really crazy.
Out of nowhere, the animated characters and objects from the museum exhibits started coming to life! There were mummies unwrapping their bandages, ancient Greek statues jumping off their pedestals, and shrunken heads singing songs. It was insane! Sam and Sophia didn't know what to do so they started running to try to escape the museum.
That's when the real adventure began. They had to outrun an evil mummy who was chasing them through all the exhibit halls. They went from the Egyptian room to the Medieval room to the Aboriginal Australian room and more. Each area they entered had new surprises and challenges for them.
In one funny part, they ran into a group of convict settlers from the early days of Australia. The convicts started marching after Sam and Sophia thinking they were prisoners trying to
escape! Sam and Sophia had to dodge arrows being shot at them by the tribal Aboriginal people too. It was madness!
My favorite part was probably when they were running through the Medieval room and came across a knight in shining armor. The knight thought Sam was a noble prince who needed to be rescued from the evil mummy! So he started swinging his sword around trying to attack the mummy. Sparks were flying everywhere as their swords clashed. It was like something strait out of a fantasy movie!
The biggest shock though was when a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton in the Dinosaur room suddenly came alive and started chasing them! Could you imagine how terrifying that would be? This gigantic T-Rex towering over you, roaring and snapping its huge jaws? I'd be absolutely petrified! Sam and Sophia showed a lot of bravery to keep moving with that creature on their tail.
Eventually, after what felt like an eternity of running and facing obstacles, Sam and Sophia finally found their way out of the museum just as the sun was setting. Phew, what a relief! But the trouble wasn't over yet. You see, when they got outside, they realized that the weird ancient tablet they had broken released a curse that caused the whole museum to come alive at night. Every night the same mayhem and chaos would happen again!
The only way to stop it was for Sam and Sophia to go on a quest to find the missing piece of the tablet and return it to the museum. So get this - at the very end, the play ended on a cliffhanger! Sam and Sophia are getting ready to embark on an epic journey to retrieve the missing tablet piece. A journey that will surely be filled with even more crazy adventures and perils. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Overall, I absolutely loved "Escaping the British Museum." It had me smiling, laughing, and sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. The costumes and sets were incredible. I felt like I was really there in the museum running from the mummies and dinosaurs myself! The actors who played Sam and Sophia were fantastic too. Wow, what an amazing experience it was to watch the play "Escape from the British Museum"! It was so cool to see all the different exhibits and artifacts come to life on stage. I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened.
The play started off pretty normal. There was a school group visiting the British Museum on a field trip, just like the ones we go on. The kids were being loud and goofy like kids usually are. I could totally relate to their excitement about getting out of the classroom for the day.
But then things took an unexpected turn when night fell and the museum closed. That's when the real fun began! All the different exhibits and displays started moving and talking. The mummies were unwrapping themselves, the dinosaur skeletons were dancing around, and the ancient Greek statues were

My favorite characters were definitely the two bratty princess mummies from Ancient Egypt. They were so sassy and full of attitude. Wow, what an adventure! The short play "Escaping the British Museum" that we watched in class was just so exciting and fun. I couldn't take my eyes off the stage the whole time. It was like being part of an amazing journey packed with history, mystery, and lots of laughs!

Just like us, they are really bored listening to their teacher drone on and on about the artifacts. I could totally relate to their struggles to stay awake! Rather than owning up, the kids make a silly decision to hide and try to sneak out of the museum unseen before the accident is discovered. That's when the real excitement and chaos begins!
