They did not get much formal schooling in their young days. They worked as governess in which families for some time. They contributed to a small joint volume, entitled Poems by Currier, Ellis and Acton bell, the pseudonym of Charlotte, Emily and Anne.
• She is at her best in writing about young girls, because she understands them astonishingly well.
The Bronte Sisters
They were all literary, all talented and dying young. They were the daughters of a poor clergy man in the little village of Haworth, Yorkshire, in Northern England. Their mother died in 1821, leaving five daughters and a son, the elder two of which died in a charity school.

Life
Jane Austen was born in 1775 in the English countryside Being a daughter of a country clergyman, she passed all her life doing small domestic duties in the countryside.
• One of the central themes of the book is the criticism of the bourgeois system of education. Not less severe is her description of the England country squire. Another problem raised in the novel is the position of woman in society.
Life
She was educated at home and began to write at an early age. Writing bout the small world she lived in. She published her work anonymously owing to the prejudice prevailing at that time. During her lifetime she was never “lionized”.
Emily
Emily Bronte was a poet and novelist. In the opinion of many critics, she was the most gifted of the three Bronte sisters. She was most famous for her masterpiece, Wuthering Heights.
Anne
• Anne is the youngest of the Bronte • sisters, both she and her sister Emily died

• Juan Austen was the first English woman novelist and she indeed presented the features of realism.
• Her novels shows a wealth of humor, wit and delicate satire. Her dialogues are admirably true to life.
4.Jane Eyre
It is her masterpiece. It is noted for its sharp criticism of the exciting society. It is a representative work of the feminist writings. In the novel, Charlotte criticizes the Victorian England’s strict social hierarchy.
