Right now we learnt many forms of Chinese and other co untries’ poems. Learning many forms of poems is very interesting for the students. And they can create many poems using their mind. At the moment, can you trade poems?
Teaching steps(教学过程设计)
Step 1. Warming up: Ask them some questions on poems.
•Do you know any poems that describe a lake?
•水光潋滟晴方好, 山色空蒙雨亦奇。
•欲把西湖比西子, 浓妆淡抹总相宜。
Step 2. Have a discussion with them.
Have you ever written any poems? Trade your poems with others and discuss them!
Step 3. Listening tasks: Listen to the tape twice and then answer the questions.
• 1. _______ is a beautiful way to express thoughts and feelings.(Poetry)• 2. Danny’s teacher says Danny’s always saying _______ things.(funny)Step 4. Reading tasks: Read the text with the following questions.
•Does Danny think it is hard to write a poem?
•Yes, he does.
•Did Li Ming write back to Danny?
•Yes, he did.
Step 5. Explain the language notes to the class.
1. At the beginning, I was afraid to try writing a poem. 起初,我不敢尝试写诗。at the beginning起初,开始,相当于at first。at the beginning of意为“在……的开始”,后跟名词或代词。
At the beginning of the class, Mr. Lin sang a song. 在这节课的开始,林先生唱了一首歌。
2. so… that …如此以至,引导结果状语从句,that从句中常加情态动词。例:
•The TV set costs so much that I can’t buy it. 这台电视机花这么多以至于我买不起。
•另外,so…that…还可以引导目的状语从句,“以便”。例:
•He got up so early so that he could catch the early bus. 他很早起床以便赶
早班车。
•so…that引导结果状语从句时有时可以用“too…to…”及“enough”来改写。例:•He is so young that he can’t go to work.
•He is too young to go to work.
•The boy is so strong that he can lift the heavy box.
•The boy is strong enough to life the heavy box.
•so…that…引导目的状语从句时有时可以用in order to 或so as to来替换。例:•He came early so that he could sit in the front of the classroom.他早来的目的是能坐在教室的前面。
•He came early in order to (so as to) sit in the front of the classroom. Step 6. Come to “LET’S DO IT”.
1) Finish Exercises 1 and 2 on Page 61. Encourage students to finish them independently, then check as a class.
1.2) Comet to the project. In a small group, write a poem according to the demands.
First, choose a word your group like. They can choose any word that they like.
Because the task is to begin a poem with the letters in this word, everyone can write a word on a piece of paper. Then they can choose one from these.
e each letter in this word to begin a line of our poem. Everyone in the group
can write different poem according to the word. Then they can exchange their poems and give advice to each other.
3.Make a poster to display your poems on the wall. It takes some time to design
the poster.
4.Which one do you think is the best? Give your reasons.
Let the students choose the best poem that they like best and give their reasons in front of the class.
Homework(作业)
Write a poem about something you like.

我们学习李明明信片里的最后一首诗是非常有趣的。它真得像一个谜。像那样总结我们学到的,写一首诗。鼓励所有的学生靠他自己写一首诗。记住制作招贴画。它是这一单元的纪念品。
