摘要：PURPOSE:To convert a character string supplied in HIRAGANA (Japanese syllabary) into a mixture sentence of KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) with a simple operation, by dividing the character string into the first and second half parts and checking whether or not the second half charac ter string can be included into the KATAKANA words. CONSTITUTION:An attached word checking part 10 decomposes the second half of an input character string stored in a second half character string memory part 7 in the form of gathering of attached words, retrieves the part-of-speech numbers of each decomposed attached word via an attached word dictionary 11 and checks the propriety for connectiojn of those attached words through a connection matrix 12. A KATAKANA converting part 8 converts the first half part of an input character string stored in a first half character string memory part 6 into KATAKANA according to the result of decision obtained by the part 10 and delivers and stores it to a converted character string memory part 13. While a HIRAGANA converting part 9 converts the second half of the input character string stored in a second half character string memory part 7 converts into HIRAGANA and outputs and stores it to the part 13.
