摘要:PURPOSE:To produce the titled composite material which has a surface coated with xanthane gum and excellent dispersibility in a solvent, by mixing an acid type xanthane gum having a random coil structure with ferromagnetic substance particles in a fluidized phase. CONSTITUTION:An acid type xanthane gum composed of a repeating unit of the formula (usually, helix coil structure) is dissolved in water. The resulting aq. soln. is chemically treated or heat-treated (e.g. at 80 deg.C for 5min) to change the structure of the xanthane gum into a random coil structure contg. thousands of carboxyl groups and many hydroxyl groups as side chains per molecule (length; 0.3-1.8mu). Ferromagnetic substance particles (e.g. tri-iron tetroxide or gamma-ferric oxide particles) are dispersed in the above aq. soln. to adsorb the xanthane gum on the surface of the particle, whereby a composite material can be formed (if necessary, an acetyl group is further introduced thereto).
