【参考范文】
Dear Jane,
Glad to hear from you and you’re welcome to China in July. The following are some Chinese customs.
First of all,we greet each other by saying “Hello”or asking such questions as “Where are you going?”or “Are you busy?”to express our care.Next, for the gift,we usually send some fruits, candies or wines to others to show our politeness. Finally,at dinner parties,we use chopsticks properly. And we talk with others and touch glasses when drinking to someone’s health or success to show that we’re warm.
Anyhow, different cultures, different customs. If you “Do as the Romans do when in Rome”,you’ll enjoy more of your stay here.
I hope what’s mentioned above might be helpful and wish you a good journey.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

W:Welcome to NYP.My name is Sarah Cartwright.I’m the manager in Human Resources. There are three of us in my department and I’m the one you should come to for any help or information. The other two are Ben Gillick and Max Collins.I’d like to give you some practical information now, before the director comes to talk to you.
Firstly, the canteen on the ground floor is open all day for coffee, meals, etc. There are also coffee machines on the top floor, where we have all the company notice boards,so staff often meet there to talk.Next, some of you have asked about your taxes…um,for any tax questions, you need
to go to the Accounts Office. For general salary questions you can go to the Finance office.
Two events, now.Today,in the conference room,at 3:30,there’ll be a presentation—it’s not on new products as the notice says;it’s actually on marketing. You’re welcome to attend to see how we’re working in that area. There’ll also be a buffet lunch the day after tomorrow for all staff working on the new project—that includes you. That’s on Wednesday—sorry,I mean Thursday—you’ll get full information later.
Finally, sometimes you’ll need to use the machines in the print room, which is on the second floor. The first time you go in there, register for a plastic card—you don’t need it for ordinary copying machines, but you do for the color ones.
The other thing to sign up for,if you want to,is the sports club, just two minutes from here.If you’re interested, see Max Collins, who’ll give you an application form.
Right, that’s all for the moment. Here’s coffee, and the director is just coming through now.。
