dwell, inhabit, live, lodge, settle dwell为文学用词,口语中多用live代替. inhabit强调居住在某地并已适应某种环境. 例: This island is inhabited only by birds. 这是一座只有鸟类栖息的岛. live为最普通用词,可指长期或临时居住. lodge指短时间或临时住宿. 例: The refugees are being lodged in an ttle侧重指定居于某城市/国家或地区,不指住所. 例: After years of travel they decided to settle down in Greece.
