An American husband and wife were living in Singapore for a year, together with their children and their pet dog.
One day the husband and wife went to small restaurant because they wanted to try some Singaporean food. They could not speak any Malay, so they "talked" to the Singaporean waiter by using their hands. They pointed at the meat on another table and then pointed at their own table.
It seemed that the waiter understood and was about to go back and bring out the food.
Just then，the husband pointed at his own pet dog and then pointed at the kitchen door. What the husband wanted was to find some food for the pet dog, too.
Again the waiter seemed to understand quickly. He took the dog into the kitchen.
By the end of the meal, the husband and the wife were feeling very, very angry and unwell. And they felt very sad, too. There was nothing wrong with the food they had eaten, because the husband and the wife feel so sad and angry?
