The Story of the Little Horse Crossing the River
Once upon a time, there was a little horse who lived on a beautiful farm with his mother. Every day, the little horse watched his mother carry water from the river nearby, and he was always curious about crossing the river by himself. However, his mother always warned him that the river was deep and dangerous.
One sunny day, the little horse was sent by his mother to deliver something to his grandmother's house on the other side of the river. Excited yet nervous, the little horse made his way to the riverbank. As he stood there, he saw a tall and strong cow crossing the river easily. The cow's hooves barely made a ripple in the water. The little horse thought, "If the cow can cross with ease, I can surely do it too."
With newfound courage, the little horse stepped into the river. But as soon as his hooves touched the water, he felt a sudden chill. The water seemed deeper than he had imagined, and he started to panic. Just then, a squirrel came running towards him, shouting, "Stop! The river is too deep. My friend drowned here just yesterday!"
The little horse was now thoroughly frightened. He turned back and ran towards the farm, tears streaming down his face. His mother saw him crying and asked what had happened. The little horse told her about the cow and the squirrel and how confused he was.
His mother smiled and said, "My dear, you should not always rely on others' opinions. Every creature is different, and the river may seem different to each of us. Why don't you go back and try crossing it again, but this time, trust your own judgment?"
Encouraged by his mother's words, the little horse went back to the riverbank. He took a deep breath and carefully observed the river. He noticed that the water wasn't as deep as it had seemed before. With a determined look, he stepped into the river again. This time, he walked steadily, trusting his own feet and instincts.
Finally, the little horse reached the other side of the river, feeling a sense of accomplishment. He realized that it was important to have confidence in oneself and not be swayed by others' opinions.
From that day onwards, the little horse became more independent and
brave. He knew that no matter what challenges he faced in life, he should always trust his own abilities and make his own decisions.
