I.Lead in
Show the cover of the book and ask the following questions to lead in
1.Are they twins?
2.What are the differences between them?
3.What are they? Are the opponents?
4.Who do the audiences like better? How do you know?
5.What’s on their dressing gowns? What do they stand for?
6.Bertha is holding something in her hand? What is it? And why does she hold it/
II.Ask the students to look at the title, and ask the following questions to sort out one lead in the story.
1.What is Bertha’s secret battle? Page 10, 22, 23, 30
2.What happened when Fiona looked like Bertha? Page 18,19, 20,16
3.Was Fiona happy about looking like Bertha? How did they deal with the problem?

1.Was Bertha really a rude and rough person? Find evidence to suppose your idea.
