For the first 8 years of my daughter's life, I was a single mom, with no help or support from family. To make matters worse, I had left my long-time friends behind so they said I was completely alone.
You can do anything in this world that you make up your mind to do. If you have children, you will homeschool them once you've learned a little about homeschooling and child psychology—all can be obtained (获得) within 1/2 hour of reading.
And you don't need to follow the tough road I travelled. I worked all night after spending time with my child all day. I averaged 4 hours of sleep a night for those first 8 years. You may wonder if it was worth it. My answer was that I wouldn't have had it any other way. On the homeschooling side, life is much different. Homeschooled children are still tightly bonded with their parents, and have learned to make smart decisions on their own.
You likely can rely on friends and family. You likely have a spouse (配偶) who will support you. You likely don't have to learn the hard lessons I did when I was raising my homeschooled child because there is just so much more help and assistance available to homeschoolers now. Here's one of fun homeschooling activities for the elementary aged child (from 5 to 11 years old): Wordplay for Homeschoolers: How About a Brain Improvement?
(9 and up)
This will keep their brains working during the summer months. Improve creativity, vocabulary and have fun with creative puzzles, wordplay, and riddles.
So, get busy, have fun and enjoy those children this summer—without feeling tired! 28.The passage is mainly written for ________.

31.The readers are advised to ________.

When we were very small, we realized that having friends was important. Some of us even had imaginary friends. The need for friends continued as we grew into our teens. Friends played a big part in forming our personalities. As adults, it is still important for us to have friends.
True friends are people who like us though we made mistakes and who listen to us and tell us the truth. Friends support our decisions and tell us when we’re foolish. They laugh with us and share our sadness. They are our partners and share interests with us. They stimulate us when we are feeling down. They are people we aren’t afraid of telling our secret wishes to or what is really on our minds.
Friends are our supporters. When you can depend on friends, you feel safe and warm. Friends offer acceptance and emotional support. At times, they also help with our everyday lives, cooking a meal, doing chores, or giving us a lift when we need one. Friends also are there to offer advice, an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on.
Friends also help us reduce stress. Not only do they listen to us when we feel stressed, but they also discuss what is stressing us. Sharing interests and doing activities with friends help us forget about problems at work or at home. For a short time, we can lose ourselves in a pleasant activity and perhaps laugh and breathe more easily.

You may have grown up living with sisters and brothers, or this may be your first time sharing your living space with someone else. 36 However, it can also be a great part of your college experience. Follow these tips to make sure you and your roommate keep things pleasant and supportive throughout the year.
Be clear from the beginning.
Maybe you hate it when someone interrupts you when you are sleeping every morning. Maybe you need ten minutes to yourself before talking to anyone after you wake up. 37 It’s not fair to expect him or her to notice them right away, and communicating what you need is one of the best ways to get rid of problems before they become problems.
38
This may seem simple, but it’s probably one of t he biggest reasons why roommates experience conflicts. Don’t you think he’ll mind if you borrow his shoes for a quick soccer game? For all you know, you just stepped over an uncrossable line. Don’t borrow, use, or take anything without getting permission first.
Be open to change.
You should expect to learn and grow and change during your time at school. 39 As the term progresses, realize things will change for both of you. Be comfortable addressing things that unexpectedly come up, setting new rules, and being flexible to your changing environment.
Follow the Golden Rule.
40 No matter what your relationship is at the end of the year, you can take comfort knowing you acted like an adult and treated your roommate with respect.
A. Respect your roommate’s things.
B. You should correct your bad habits first.
C. Having a roommate surely has its challenges.
D. Let your roommate know about your preferences.
E. Treat your roommate like you’d like to be treated.
F. Living with a roommate is really a wonderful thing.
G. And the same should happen to your roommate, if all goes well.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I’ve learned from a newspaper that six of eight bear species in the world are dying out as a result of human activities. One of the reasons why bears are often killed is that some parts of bears are very expensive as medicine. In addition, many habitats
of bears are being destroyed, so bears are losing their homes.
To save bears, I think more reserves for bears should b e set up so that they can live freely there. Besides, Laws should be passed to prevent people from killing bears.
Please give a hand to the endangered bears. They need help to survive.
Yours sincerely
Li Hua。
