NATASHA: Yes, I know. I tried that. They don't have anything now. So what can I do?ERIC: Well, since you're a foreign student, it's hard. That's because it's actually illegal for you to work in America.NATASHA: I know that. You don't have to tell me that. That's my problem.I know I have the right to work for the university. That's legal. But they don't have a job for me. And it's illegal for me to get a job elsewhere. NATASHA: But I need a pretty decent job.I need to make enough to pay my rent at least.ERIC: I have an idea.NATASHA: What?ERIC: Since you're Chinese, maybe you can find part-time work in Chinatown. NATASHA: I already had that idea.ERIC: Well, why don't you go and look down there?NATASHA: But I don't know what I would do.ERIC: It may be part-time work as a waitress or something. It would be illegal, but sometimes waitresses make a good salary. NATASHA: Maybe. I don't know.ERIC: I will ask my friends for you.Maybe someone knows a company that needs part-time people. That's another thing you should do. Ask all your friends to ask around for you. You might find something.NATASHA: I have to find something.Otherwise I have to go back to Taiwan. I'll be broke in two months.娜塔莎:我不知道如何是好。

1995年专四作文真题范文_Discuss part-time job

¡¡In recent years, more and more college students begin to take part-time jobs in their spare time to earn pocket money or even education fees by themselves and such a phenomenon has caused numerous heated debates among the people around us. From my standpoint, taking part-time jobs has advantages as well as disadvantages.¡¡As a social activity, a part-time job certainly offers college students substantial practice, which is crucial to them after they graduate and go to their work posts. Besides, income earned from part-time jobs can solve their financial problems, especially for those who come from poor-stricken areas. Moreover, with part-time jobs, college students can put what they have learned from their books into use, thus connecting theories with practice and making abstract knowledge concrete and practical.¡¡However, since part-time jobs take much of the students' time that must originally be spent on their studies, those who take them waste a great deal of time, therefore, their academic performance is tremendously affected. According to some worried sociologists, the duty of students is to acquire as much knowledge as possible so that they could better serve the society after their graduation. As a result, such people deem part-time jobs, which are regarded contradictory to study, as ¡°not attending to one's proper duties¡±.¡¡Admittedly, people rarely reach an absolute consensus on such a controversial issue. From my point of view, so long as college students put their courses first and concentrate on their studies while at school, certain amount of time spent on part-time jobs is not incorrect. I think the most important for them to do is to balance the two aspects well and give priority to study if the two contradict each other.。

On College Students' Taking Part-time Jobs

On College Students' Taking Part-time Jobs The discussion about college students’taking part-time jobs has never stopped in recent ten years. Some people hold that it has a lot of advantages, while others don’t agree. Personally, I think if we can approach it reasonably, it is beneficial to us.First of all, we can get a part-time job for part of our pocket money. Meanwhile, when we earn money by ourselves, we would feel that how difficult we get money so that we won’t waste money any more. Furthermore, we should develop ourselves in all sides. As a modern student, we should pay attention to our comprehensive qualities instead of studying merely. Because of the severe competition in the job market, you may more likely to get a job if you own some distinctive characteristics, such as talk ability and imagination. By getting a part-time job, we can develop these abilities. Last but not unimportant, we should hold skills and experience to show what we have learned. Though we have learned much, but everything will become useless without experience and skills, in that we can not show our knowledge to others very well. To avoid this phenomenon, we should get a part-time job which is related to the one we want to get in the future. Just as any coin has two sides; it is no exception with the issue of college students’taking part-time jobs. We should develop a right attitude toward it and strike a balance between part-time job and study.。

谈论兼职工作的英语作文Part-time Jobs。
Nowadays, part-time jobs have become increasingly popular among college students. Many students choose to take part-time jobs for various reasons.Firstly, part-time jobs can provide students with a source of income. Many students come from low-income families and need to support themselves financially. Apart-time job can help them pay for their living expenses, such as rent, food, and transportation.Secondly, part-time jobs can help students gain work experience. By working part-time, students can learn practical skills and knowledge that cannot be obtained in the classroom. This experience can be valuable when they apply for full-time jobs after graduation.Thirdly, part-time jobs can help students develop theirsocial skills. By working with different people, students can learn how to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and solve problems. However, there are also some drawbacks to taking part-time jobs. Firstly, students may find it difficult to balance their work and study. If they work too much, they may not have enough time to study and their academic performance may suffer. Secondly, some part-time jobs may be physically or mentally demanding, which can affect students' health. In my opinion, taking a part-time job is a good choice for college students, but they should choose the right job and balance their work and study. They should also pay attention to their health and not work too much. By taking a part-time job, students can not only earn money, but also gain valuable work experience and develop their social skills.。

谈论兼职工作英语作文高中Title: Part-time Jobs for High School Students。
In recent years, the topic of part-time jobs for high school students has sparked widespread discussion. Many argue that part-time work can provide valuable experience, while others express concerns about its impact on academic performance and overall well-being. In this essay, we will explore both sides of the issue and present recommendations for students considering part-time work.On one hand, part-time jobs offer numerous benefits for high school students. Firstly, they provide valuable work experience, helping students develop essential skills such as time management, communication, and responsibility. These skills are often not adequately taught in the classroom but are crucial for success in the real world. Moreover, part-time work allows students to earn their own money, which can be used for personal expenses or saved for future goals, such as college tuition. This financialindependence instills a sense of responsibility and self-reliance in students, preparing them for adulthood.Furthermore, part-time jobs can also help high school students explore potential career paths. By working in different industries or roles, students can gain insights into various professions and determine their interests and strengths. This firsthand experience can be invaluable when making decisions about future education and career choices. Additionally, part-time work provides an opportunity for networking and building connections with professionals in the field, which may open doors to future employment opportunities.Despite these benefits, there are also concerns surrounding part-time work for high school students. One major concern is the impact on academic performance. Balancing schoolwork with a part-time job can be challenging, and some students may struggle to juggle their responsibilities effectively. This can lead to increased stress and fatigue, which may negatively affect their grades and overall well-being. Additionally, working longhours may leave students with little time for extracurricular activities, hobbies, or socializing, depriving them of important aspects of their teenage years.Another concern is the potential for exploitation or abuse in the workplace. High school students, especially those with limited work experience, may be vulnerable to exploitation by employers who take advantage of their lack of knowledge or rights. This could include low wages, unsafe working conditions, or violations of labor laws. Therefore, it is essential for students to research potential employers thoroughly and understand their rights as workers. In conclusion, part-time jobs can be both beneficial and challenging for high school students. While they offer valuable experience, financial independence, and career exploration opportunities, they also come with potential drawbacks such as academic stress and workplace exploitation. It is important for students to carefully weigh the pros and cons before taking on a part-time job and to prioritize their academic success and well-beingabove all else. With proper time management and support from parents, teachers, and employers, part-time work can be a valuable learning experience for high school students.。
essay about part time jobs

1.0IntroductionIn the contemporay society, it is the trend that most of the univerisity especially some graduates was focused on their paid job, which means the provided job must satisfy their salary requirements and needs. In this attitude, most managers in the company suggest that the university students should engaged in their hobby, major studies and the future of their job.In this essay, this topic will be discussed as four parts with using the consistent referencing style that is the Harvard style for the referencing list: the reason why many university students was engaged in the paid employment, the advantages and disadvantages for the university students considering this paid employment, and finally investigate the impacts of that ation on the college students on their experience at university and on their performance( Reid, DH, Parsons, MB & Green, CW 2009).2.0The reason for students seek paid employmentIn the perspective of the college students, it is important to given the paid employment to demonstrate their abilty and certificate. Firstly, they did not have enough work experience to accumulate the learning from the company, so it is a chance and opportunitity to obtain their salary in their company to accumulate the work experience (Adair, J. 2008.p5). Secondly, some university students was eager to own their business, so it was a primary and significant step to work in the big business and get their first wage in the process of seeking for a job. what’s more, it is mainfeast for the paid employment represent the stable and safety work, this was the the dream and goals for the graduates to seek and pursue, most of the college students has agreed that the practice or on the probation was not stand for the longer-term work, it was probale that the students will be fired at any time, and seeking the stablise work was still the unchanged truth and not every person did not like it (Sjostrand, S (ed.) 2006). 3.0The benefits for students engaged in paid employmentThe benefits for students engaged in paid employment can be outline: the university students was more motivated by the paid salary they earned, they will understand the painstaking and laborious efforts on the work, they will more precious about this job and will very grateful to the people who helped them, this was easily nurture thestudents from the naive ideas to the actually standing on the adult’s thought and more mature in this competitive society(Bernstein, D 2005). Secondly, the university students will get more confident from their own paid in the future, they can make the prepetual agreements with the employees and they can solve the problem independently and increase the abilty to deal with the problem and the risks they faced in the society. At the same time, they have accumulated the basic experience from the working condition when the students was incresing the ability to finish the task and enhanving the level of self-assaessed as result of work experience. Finally, the university students will relieved stress and pressure from every pespective included the family and the society, in the modern society, there is more and more graduates leaved from the college, many students will faced the more competitive work, the methods of the students get the paid work will benefit the students to decrease the stress to seek the job, they will get more health and enjoyed attitude to engaged in their work, and also improved the better employment in the work atmosphere.4.0The drawbacks for students engaged in paid employmentThe drawbacks can be outline as: working with the unpaid employment students will have the lower performance rather than the paid employment students. The results shows that this was also lead to the drop of the company’s achievement. This means that most of the university students get the unpaid employment for the practice period or attend in the company’s course, these was firstly leave far away from the students in studies, many of the university lacked more opportunity to joined in the university activities, they wasted more time on their efforts to seek the accumulated experience but they lacked the most precious time to learn or entering into the society and actully practiced in the longer-term activities (Adair, J. 2008.p13).On the other hand, the paid employment will lead to the organisation lacked the chance to realize the actual performance on the apprasial the staff. For example, the organisation will need the training and employment step to know the ability of staff, or some practice period need the appraisal the employees, if the employees was not through this process, this was cause the uncertainty of the organisation to recruit thestaff, the organisation has its roles and responsibilities to ensuring the different staff has different ability and the managers can according to this ability to arrange the tasks and arrangements.5.0The impacts on student’s experience at university and on their performance The positive impacts on student’s experience at university and on their performance can be outline: the university student who get paid work on the company will tend to be get the well performance at university and improve their grades and achievements, they have more professional and mature attitude torwards the scholar activities, their ideas and views was more wide and broad when analysising the complex question, they will think more thoughtful in the studies and they will not only learning the fixed theory and knowledge, they have practice experience to deal with the similar tasks in the university. Moreover, some university students have the leadership or management experience for adapting in the course of the student union, they can undertake the position in the university. The negative impacts on student’s experience at university and on their performance can be outline: the paid employment will always be the full-time employment, which will cause the detrimental results on the student’s academic performance, the students will lacked the most time to learn and reasearch the academic theory. Futhermore, the paid employment will more easily to lead to the students only focused on the salary and ignore the aatitudes torwards the work and the pursuit work they want to undertake(Jossey-Bass,2004). Finally, some university has few experience to entering into the society, there are certain risks for them to considering the wage first, it is more important for them to accumulate the certain professional knowledge or work experience for they will have better understaning about the work roles and responsibilities, in this perspective, this will increase the work effienicy and ensuring the clear labour division.6.0ConclusionIn this essay, the topic was discussing many university students engage in paid employment, from the perspective of individual and society, analysising the reason why the students was choosing the paid employment not the unpaid work, theadvantages for the students considering the paid work, and while the disadvantages was caused when they was only considering the paid employment, finally, there is necessary for discussing the impacts of the students on their experience at university and on their performance, it was divided into the positive and negative factors to asscessing the student’s engagement in this paid employment. In conclusion, this impacts have two sides and from the aspect of a university student who was first entering into the society, it is necessary for them not to considering the salary and more focused on their acievements and obtained more knowledge in the society.ReferencesAdair, J. The discussion about the part time job
Team Members:YuLong Li,BingLei Guo,Jun Yan
YuLong Li:Binglei ,Do you think our college students should be required to spend our part time finding a job for something?
BingLei Guo:No, I don't think so. I believe that study is our most important thing in our college life. After all, what we want to do is get knowledge when we stay in university. So, I think we should go to library to read something books which are good for ourselves.
Jun Yan:Don't you want to has a part time job. We couldn't always read ,we also need to do something about our professional. The part time job also can improve the ability of our practice. It is good for us.
YuLong Li:I agree with Jun Yan. In addition to improving our practice ability, we can get some pocket money by doing some part time jobs. It is good not only for ourselves, but also for our parents, especially those who come from poor families. If we can do something to anneal ourselves and help our parents support
the family ,so why not?
BingLei Guo:If we spend so much time on part time job that we couldn't pass our examinations, I don't think it is worth doing the part time job. It is more harm than good. Don't think so.
YuLong Li:While it is true that a student's most important goal must be to learn and to do well at his studies, it doesn't need to be the only goal. In fact, a life which consists of only study is not balanced and may cause the student to miss out on the other valuable learning experiences. In addition to bring more balance to a student's life, part time job can broaden his range of experience.
Jun Yan:Meanwhile, we can have a lot of opportunities to meet people from all over the world and will be faced with a wider variety of problems to solve. Furthermore, part time job can help a student develop themselves' independence. Therefore, I believe that it is a good idea for students to have a part time job while studying.
BingLei Guo:All right, maybe you are right. The part time job
can offer our opportunities to go beyond what we have been taught in class and we will learn something that doesn't exist in books but in practice. But, a part time job may waste us a lot of time, which can influence our study. So we must make the best use of our spare time to study and work.。
