Robert Spring, a 19th century forger(伪造者), was so good at his profession that he was able to make his living for 15 years by selling false signatures of Americans。

Spring was born in England in 1813 and arrived in Philadelphia in 1858 to open a bookstore。

At first he became rich by

S。

autographs (手稿)。

Discovering his ability at copying handwriting,he began imitating signatures of George Washington and Ben Franklin and writing them on the title pages of old books. To lessen the chance of detection (察觉), he sent his forgeries to England and Canada for sale。

Forgers have a hard time selling their products. A forger c an’t deal with a respectable buyer but people who don't have much knowledge in the field. Forgers have many ways to make their work look real. For example, they buy old books to use the aged paper of the title page, and they can treat paper and ink with chemicals。

In Spring’s time right after the Civil War, Britain was still fond of the Southern states, so Spring invented a respectable maiden lady known as Miss Fanny Jackson, the only daughter of General “Stonewall" Jackson。

For several years Miss Fanny's financial problems forced her to sell a great number of letters and manuscripts (手稿). Spring had to work very hard to satisfy the demand。

Many people who are overweight have poor digestion(消化)。

For the most part, poor digestion is not a habit given by our parents. We give it to ourselves through the way we eat. Eating to get less stress or anxiety is often the mistake most people will make. Oh, poor digestion can lead to weight problems。

Here's how: When a person feels stressed, the part of the central nervous system that connects digestion switches off。

This is called the parasympathetic nervous system(副交感神经系统). At those times of stress, the body can take in food and process some of it, but digestion d oesn’t work correctly to digest all the nutritional(营养的)goodness from the food. Poor digestion is not always obvious by observing symptoms; you can get some illnesses but not always。

Poor digestion can be seemingly silent。

If you eat when you are stressed, anxious,or nervous, you might as well be eating cardboard for all the nutrients your body gets。

Yes,eating when stressed is a gaining situation。

Now you might think, well,if I’m not digesting, the calories aren’t getting handles,so I should be losing weight. Good idea, but wrong reality. When digestion is not proper, the body starts “starving" from lack of necessary nutrients(营养物). Yes, it goes into a starvation(饥饿)problem and starts absorbing(吸收)fat and energy。

It thinks it’s in a famine(饥荒)。

The good news is that it's
easy to make some corrections and get rid of stress at mealtimes. If you feel stressed often, it can be helpful to take other food that contains multiple B vitamins。

These help, but you could still find yourself stressed at mealtimes。

44. The author wrote the passage to tell us
A。

how to deal with stress at mealtimes
B. what kind of food can be easily digested
C. eating when you’re stressed can cause weight problems
D。

eating too much resulted in overweight problems
45。

How do you understand the underlined sentence in the first paragraph?
A。

Eating is the best way to release stress.
B. We should not release the stress by eating。

C. Eating too much can cause anxiety.
D。

The stress problem can be solved during eating.
46. In what way do poor digestion and stress cause body problems?
A. Poor digestion cannot absorb much nutritional goodness from the food.
B. People with poor digestion take in food and process all of it。

C. When people feel stressed, the parasympathetic nervous system switches on.
D. Poor digestion will not lead to overweight problems.
47。

Which is NOT the reason why people may have weight problems when eating with stress?
A. The body does not take in what they eat。

B。

The digestion system becomes incorrect.
C。

People cannot eat much when unhappy。

D. The body will begin to absorb too much fat.

Do you know that over ten million American kids go to camp every summer? 51 Back then, before the air conditioner was invented, hot city summers were uncomfortable and even unhealthy for children, so escaping to the country for a few weeks became a popular trend.
Today, kids have different reasons for making camp a part of their lives, such as:
To meet new people
Camp might give you a chance to be with people from different states, or even different countries. It’s a great way to make new friends and learn about different places and cultures。

Michiko, 13,put it like this:“I loved camp。

52 We taught each other words. We liked to swim in the pool a lot。

To challenge yourself
53 Fresh challenges - like trying new sports, learning new crafts and games,or pushing yourself to achieve something —can be very rewarding。

Take it from Arabella,13,who told us: “ I went to summer camp and I passed my swimming test! I can hardly swim, so it was a big accomplishment (成就)。

54 ”
To appreciate nature
There’s a great big natural world out there, and going to camp helps you learn how beautiful and important it really is。

Our class held a discussion about if music should be played during the brea k or not。

The opinions
are divided。

Most of students think that music should be played。

As we know, music can produce
a lively and happy atmosphere. However, after hard study music can brin g us relaxation, which
reduce the tiredness. This can help us make full preparations for the next cl ass。

Listen to music
also makes us feel happy。

On the other hand, some students don’t th ink it. In their opinion, they
can’t get the expecting effect from playing music, for the class break ti me is too short。

What is
needed most during the class break is peace instead noise produced by mus ic。

In my opinion, it is
good to play some soft and peace music during the class break. In this way students can enjoy
music as good as have a good rest.

1.D
2.A
3。

B
4。

D
5。

D
6.B
7。

B
8.C
9。

C
10。

A
11.C
12。

C
13.B
14.C
15.D
The doctors said that 39, if any, could come back to no…,Having heard this, the little girl…

Have/stand a good/fair chance of…大有…
19。

而且后文中有:look, what I’m doing …,可以看出选B。

29。

C.从文中look, what I’m doing …,可以看出她因为激动所以喊叫出来。
