(过去进行时)
【考点概述】过去进行时表示过去某个时间或某段时间正在发生的动作，谓语部分由was/were+现在分词构成。

是中考的必考时态之一。

考点一、过去进行时的用法
①表示过去某个时间正在发生的动作
✧I’m sorry I didn’t answer your call because I was doing my homework at that time.
很抱歉我没有接你的电话，因为当时我正在做作业
✧He was taking a shower at eight last night.他昨晚八点在洗澡。

②过去某段时间正在发生的动作
✧I was searching for information on my project the whole morning.
我整个上午都在寻找有关我项目的信息。

✧He was working the whole day yesterday.他昨天工作了一整天。

③用过去进行时表示事件发生的背景。

✧They were talking about the new film when the teacher came into the classroom.
当老师走进教室时，他们正在谈论这部新电影。

✧The girl was reading Wechat while walking across the street那个女孩在过马路的时候看微信。

④特殊用法：
✧He said he was reading books. 他说他在看书。

(时态呼应→主过从必过）
✧Unfortunately, when I dropped in, Professor Smith was just leaving , so we only had time for a
few words.
不幸的是，当我顺道拜访时，史密斯教授正要离开，所以我们只有几句话的时间。

（过去进行时表过去将来的概念）
考点二、过去进行时的时间状语
①at nine last night在昨晚9点（引申：过去进行时与过去时间的具体时刻连用)
②at that time= at that moment 在那时
③at this time yesterday 在昨天的这个时候
考点三、过去进行时与when/while连用时，主从句的时态选择及when/while的区分
①表示故事发生背景的正在发生的动作用过去进行时；表示突然发生的短动作用一般过去时✧When Mary came to see me yesterday, I was listening to the music.
玛丽昨天来看我时，我正在听音乐。

✧I was playing computer games when my mother came back.
我妈妈回来的时候我正在玩电脑游戏。

②while引导的时间状语从句，主从句都用过去进行时，表示两个动作同时发生。

（此时只能用while 连接）
✧He was still working on the problem while his classmates were having a rest in the next room.
当他的同学们在隔壁房间休息时，他仍在解那道题。

①when 后从句的动词可以是延续性的也可以是非延续性的。

✧I was having lunch when he came in. （非延续性动词）
✧When I was having lunch, the phone rang. （延续性动词）
②while后从句的动词必须是延续性动词。

✧The power broke down while we were having an English lesson.当我们上英语课时，电源坏了。

✧He was sleeping while we were watching TV.我们看电视的时候,他正在睡觉。
