1. It was a dark and stormy night. Lightning flashed across the sky and the wind howled through the trees. I was alone in my house, feeling scared and uneasy. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. I hesitated for a moment, wondering who could be out in such terrible weather. But then I gathered my courage and went to answer it.
2. The person at the door was a stranger, soaked to the bone and shivering with cold. He said he had been in a car accident and needed help. I felt sorry for him and invited him inside. As he warmed up by the fire, he told me his story. He was a businessman on his way to an important meeting, but his car had skidded off the road in the storm.
3. I listened to his tale with interest, but something about him seemed off. He was too smooth, too polished, too rehearsed. And then I noticed something else a glint in his eye, a hint of malice. I realized that he was not who he
said he was. He was a con artist, a thief, a danger to me and anyone else he encountered.。
