Intention: To help the Ss learn and remember the new words in the period by pictures and lead in the topic smoothly. Also, knowing the words is the first step to use them in the sentence)
Step 2 Prelistening
Task 1: Work on 1a.
1.Match the words with the things in the picture.
2.Ask the Ss write the words in the picture to check their memory.
3.Can you add more things that you ever lost? (books, wallet, school uniform)
4.Where should you go to find your lost things? (Lost & Found)
Intention:
Step 3 Whilelistening
Linda and Mike are students in Grade 7. They lost their things. They are looking for them in the Lost and Found.
1st listening: Listen & circle the things you hear in 1a.
2nd listening: Listen and write the things that belong to Linda or Mike.
3rd listening: Listen and repeat. (pay attention to the sounds: /əu/ /au/ /ei/ /ai/ /iə/ /eə/ ) Check the answers by using the sentences: This is Linda’s / Mike’s...; That is Linda’s / Mike’s...
Intention: Through listening activities, Ss can catch the key information in the conversation and have a better understanding of the structures.
Step 4 Postlistening
Pair work: work 1e.
Student A is Linda, and student B is Mike. Make conversations about things in 1d. Then change the roles.
Invite some pairs to show their performance.
Intention: Practice makes perfect. Using lots of practice to make the Ss consolidate
the key structures and encourage the Ss speak them out.)
