The American views on social services are self-reliant frontiersman and pioneer communnity . Since the Great Depression ,the USA awared the necessarity of providing social services for those in need.
The social serivice can be divided into public and private . The former includes contributory socil security system which is financed throught tax and doesn`t cover all bills,such as damages and the the welfare system which contains various programs is designed to provide aid to the meedy and the poor. However ,the total cost of the system only accounts for 6 percent of the U.S federal
bullget ,mostpeople can`t take advantage of it . What`s more ,the system vary from one another in states,. In the system, medicaid is the largest expenditure, the AFDC provide payments to the disabled and families with children on the basis of need ,the Department of Agriculture organies the distribution of food (stamps) . Since the government sponsored welfare programmes are inadquate,voluntary services considered as a complementary third sector to the picture and public ones is necessary.But some just concentrates on one service.In all voluntary
services ,religious organisitions and private foundations stand out most prominently.In the USA,health and medical care can also divided into private and public ones.Most people are insured for health care through insurance plans.Though the USA is rich ,it’s still very hard for the majority to get access to the services.Therefore,the system is cr iticized.
Finally,the home-ownership is part of the American Dream and the rate of it is very high .Americans who can’t afford a house can loan from the bank based on their incomes.However,there are some people live in public houses or homeles.。
