• What is subjective complement?
A subject complement is a phrase or clause that follows a linking verb and that completes the subject of the sentence by either renaming it or describing it. In the former case, a renaming noun phrase such as a noun or pronoun is called a predicate nominative. An adjective following the linking verb and describing the subject is called a predicate adjective.
• In present tenses, nouns and verbs form plurals in opposite ways:
1. nouns ADD an s to the singular form,
2. BUT verbs REMOVE an s from the singular form.
3> Plural form subjects with a plural meaning take a plural verb. (e.g. scissors, trousers)
9. With subject and subjective complement of different number, the verb always agrees with the subject.
10-A. With one of those ________ who, use a plural verb.
10-B. With the only one of those ________who, use a singular verb.
11-A. With the number of _______, use a singular verb.
