14-15学年外研高二上学期5册Module3测试Class: Name: Marks: 满分(120)第一部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)AMy favorite book that I’ve read is the well-known novel Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen. The novel is about a thirteen-year-old boy named Bri an Robeson. He goes to meet his father in Canada, but when he’s in the plane heading for his father, something goes terribly wrong — the pilot of the plane gets a sudden heart attack. Brian is stranded (处于困境) in the Canadian wilderness after the plane crashes, with only a hatchet (手斧) and the clothes on his back.As the plane goes down in the story, the risks rise for Brian. That’s one reason why this book is so great. Gary Paulsen explains Brian’s troubles in simple words, but he also uses lots of those w ords to describe Brian’s troubles as well. One other reason is that it sparks (激发) your mind into reading or makes you start reading Gary Paulsen’s books. In this novel, the question is, “How will the main character survive?” So it’s obvious that this boo k is an adventure and a “man against nature” novel. As you have probably guessed, Brian suffers from hunger and searches for food and shelter. When Brian finds any kind of food, he feels as if he just found money in the street. The third reason why this book is so well thought of is the creativity Gary has put into Brian. Brian uses a lot of things in his surroundings in every way: a common stick can be a spear (矛) or an arrow. In a word, when you start this book, you won’t stop reading it until Brian is rescued. I feel that Gary Paulsen gave Brian Robeson life, and that’s what made Hatchet a great book.1. What challenge does Brian have to face?A. He can hardly keep himself warm.B. He is too young to protect himself.C. It’s very difficult to fi nd food.D. He has no tools with him.2. What’s probably the ending of the story?A. The boy is found and saved.B. The boy fails to defeat difficulties.C. The boy manages to fly to his father.D. The boy lives in the wilderness forever.3. We can learn from the text that .A. the novel mainly tells us how to survive in the wildB. hatchet is the only thing that the pilot leaves to BrianC. Gary Paulsen saved Brian Robeson’s lifeD. the author thinks highly of the novelBThe most popular fashion trend(趋势) for 2012 is a modern reinvention of revival(重新流行) styles, particularly styles from the 1960s. This is mostly a result of recent TV shows. Many of the styles on sale look attractive on teenage girls.● Cat eye sunglassesCat eye sunglasses are one of the most fashionable sunglasses shapes for 2012. Cat eye sunglasses are those shaped wider along the top lenses (镜片) and narrower at the bottom. They will immediately make you look up to date with the 1960s revival.● Curve huggi ng dressesWhen you are young, your body is often in the best shape of your life. So it’s a great time to show it off. Stars like the Kardashian sisters have been making curve hugging dresses really popular. They may come in long sleeve styles if where you live is a little cool in autumn.● Ballet flat shoesBallet flat shoes are a great day-to-day style because they are always very comfortable to walk in. This season many printed styles are appearing in stores. Flower prints are some of the most popular looks.● Color block T-shirtsColor blocking was a trend that first appeared during the 1960s. It is characterized by the use of different solid colors in the one design broken up by lines. During the 1960s, color block dresses were particularly popular. A more modern style is the color block T-shirt. You will find styles which feature one color across the shoulders, another across the chest and yet another on the lower part of the T-shirt.4. The curve hugging dresses can make teenage girls .A. feel a little cold in autumnB. show off the shape of their bodyC. hide their body disadvantagesD. laugh at the Kardashian sisters’ similar dresses5. Which can best describe this year’s ballet flat shoes?A. They are of the printed style.B. They are seldom seen in shops.C. They are uncomfortable but cheap.D. There is nothing special with them.6. It can be inferred that this year’s fashion theme is based on .A. new materialsB. the stars’ lifestyleC. teens’ imagi nationD. elements in the 1960s7. In which part of a newspaper can we read the text?A. Art.B. News.C. Fashion.D. Education.CDroughts (干旱) are a common feature of the weather in the UK, with one around every 5 to 10 years on average. After 18 months since the drought began to hit the UK, most of the east and south-east of England is affected by drought. Luckily, a new water plant in Beckton, East London, is helping to ease the drought by turning seawater into drinking water. The £270-million plant uses a process (过程) called desalination, through which salt and other minerals are taken out of seawater. The plant takes seawater from the Thames Estuary when the sea is at low tide, filters (过滤) it and then pumps it through a membrane (薄膜) with lots of little holes in it. The process makes the water so clean that essential minerals have to be put back into it. Around 150 million liters of water will be produced in this way each day, supplying 1.4 million people with water. With summer drawing near, the project has been developed to help the widespread drought across the UK. Seven water companies have announced the limited use of water, and hosepipe (水龙带) bans are likely to be announced next month. The ban could affect one in three homes and people caught breaking the rules could face a fine of up to £1,000.As the desalination process is expensive to run and uses a lot of energy, it will only be used in times of drought. Martin Baggs, chief executive of Thames Water, said that more money is needed to help build reservoirs(水库) and develop new technology. He added, “People must use less water during extreme conditions.”8. The process of desalination refers to the process of .A. removing salt from seawaterB. adding minerals into seawaterC. taking water from the seaD. supplying people with water9. It is implied in the text that in summer, .A. the drought in the UK will be less severeB. more methods will be used to ease droughtsC. more drinking water will be accessible in the UKD. the UK will be threatened by more serious droughts10. The process of desalination might not be widely used mainly because .A. new technology can be developedB. it costs too much money and energyC. it can’t produce enough drinking waterD. the water made this way isn’t healthy11. What is the text mainly about?A. Droughts have been common in the history of the UK.B. The technology of taking salt out of seawater is being tested.C. Seawater is being turned into drinking water in the UK.D. Different methods are used to ease the droughts in the UK.DNews 1December 18, 2020 —This year shows strong growth for wind power when the total global installed capacity (能量) added a record 62,000 MW, making the total capacity more than 680,000 MW. The novel is about a thirteen-year-old boy named Brian Robeson. Gary Pauls en explains Brian’s troubles in simple words, but he also uses lots of those words to describe Brian’s troubles as well. One other reason is that it sparks (激发) your mind into reading or makes you start reading Gary Paulsen’s books. In this novel, the que stion is, “How will the main character survive?” So it’s obvious that this book is an adventure and a “man against nature” novel. I feel that Gary Paulsen gave Brian Robeson life, and that’s what made Hatchet a great book.46. What challenge does Brian have to face?A. He can hardly keep himself warm.B. He is too young to protect himself.C. It’s very difficult to find food.D. He has no tools with him.47. What’s probably the ending of the story?A. The boy is found and saved.B. The boy fails to defeat difficulties.C. The boy manages to fly to his father.D. The boy lives in the wilderness forever.48. Seven water companies have announced the limited use of water, and hosepipe(水龙带) bans are likely to be announced next month. The ban could affect one in three homes and people caught breaking the rules could face a fine of up to £1,000.As the desalination process is expensive to run and uses a lot of energy, it will only be used in times of drought. Martin Baggs, chief executive of Thames Water, said that more money is needed to help build reservoirs (水库) and develop new technology. He added, “People must use less water during extreme conditions.”53. The process of desalination refers to the process of .A. removing salt from seawaterB. adding minerals into seawaterC. taking water from the seaD. supplying people with water54. What is the text mainly about?A. Droughts have been common in the history of the UK.B. The technology of taking salt out of seawater is being tested.C. Seawater is being turned into drinking water in the UK.D. Different methods are used to ease the droughts in the UK.DNews 1December 18, 2020 — This year shows strong growth for wind power when the total global installed capacity (能量) added a record 62,000 MW, making the total capacity more than 680,000 MW. 14-15学年外研高二上学期5册Module1测试Class: Name: Marks: 满分(120)第一部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)AWhen some sixth-grade pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Raub Jaya were told to stay back after class, they looked unhappy as they were more interested in joining their friends at the school’s field. After the 50 pupils made their way into the classroom, a teacher told them that they would join a two-hour New Straits Times Niexus workshop (讨论会). The children were rewarded with a session (一段时间) filled with games and laughter. The 12-year-olds quickly got over their shyness and joined in various activities, including a language game which required them to fill in the blanks with alphabets based on various themes. When the workshop ended, the pupils were not willing to leave their seats and wanted to continue. Before returning home, the pupils each received a copy of the New Straits Times and were advised to use the newspaper during English classes.Amiratul Khalisa Ahmad Izhar said, “Most of us thought English was difficult but after this session, I realized it was interesting. The games on the Niexus website will surely help me improve my English.” As for Aidil Rosmeli, he never thought that the New Straits Times could be used as a learning t ool as he felt the newspaper was for adults. “It actually contains a lot of interesting facts while the Niexus website is a must visit site for pupils,” he said, adding that more workshops should be organized. S. Manimaran said, “At first, I was not willin g to join as I thought it was an extra English class.”The “Mesra Kasih Empower” program was organized for English teachers and pupils at the school by the East Coast Economic Region Development Council with the cooperation of the Malaysia Social Development Organization and New Straits Times.1. In a two-disc set released in 2011, he leads kids through different kinds of exercises to build muscle and fitness. Another DVD set of even more challenging exercises will be released this year.“The reason I chose the exercises is that they’re really hard and sometimes they take your breath away,” CJ Senter says. “However, it’s wonderful and I want to challenge.”CJ has had a lot of practice as a fitness expert. Being fat and pale was considered beautiful in the West because it was a sign of having enough food to eat and enough money to stay out of hard work in the sun. Now, thin models and actresses are everywhere, but thinness isn’t the only symbol (标志) of beauty in the world. On the border between Burma and Thailand, women of the Kayan tribe wear metal rings around their necks from the age of five. The heavy rings push their shoulders down over time and their necks become long.Writer Le Ly Hayslip talks about her mother’s appearance in her book When Heaven and Earth Changed Places. “The women in the Vietnamese village admired her looks because her teeth were not white and her earlobes (耳垂) were very long.” In Mauritiana, a country in West Africa, he avy women are considered beautiful because they signal (标志着) wealth in a land of drought (干旱).The Brazilian girl in a song written in 1962 had a “guitar-shaped body”, and she was described in the song as “more than a poem, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.” In the English version she was “tall and tan and young and lovely”.Beauty proves to be a changeable idea. If you want to keep feeling good, you can stop at the mirror by the door and take a minute to put on one final touch —a scarf, a bright hat, a little anything that makes you feel better. After all, feeling better is more important than looking better.8. The underlined word “pale” in the first paragraph is closest in meaning to “”.A. weakB. darkC. whiteD. sick9. The author takes the Kayan tribe for example in order to .A. show us their unique way to be beautifulB. tell them to stop damaging their healthC. call for equal rights for womenD. show us the women’s hard life10. We can learn from the third paragraph that .A. women in Vietnamese villages all have long earlobesB. Le Ly Hayslip’s mother didn’t like to clean her teethC. Fortunately, over the years, that opinion has been defeated by women inventors like Margaret Knight, who were willing to fight for the praise and recognition.Born in Maine in 1838, Margaret Knight showed an interest in inventing from a very young age. After observing an accident in a factory at the age of 12, Margaret started to produce her first invention. She invented a device that would automatically (自动地) stop a machine if something got caught in it. By the time she was a teenager the invention was being used in the mills.Later, Margaret went to work in a paper bag factory. While working in the factory, she thought how much easier it would be to pack items in paper bags if the bottoms were flat. That idea inspired her to invent the machine that would change her into a famous inventor. Margaret’s machine made the flat-bottom paper bags that are still used to this day in most grocery stores. However, a man named Charles Annan tried to steal Margaret’s idea. Not one to give in without a fight, Margaret took Annan to court (法庭) to compete for the patent (专利) that belonged to her. While Annan argued simply that a woman could never design such a machine, Margaret showed evidence that the invention indeed belonged to her. As a result, Margaret received her patent.Margaret didn’t stop there though; throughout her lifetime she had lots of different inventions —including a rotary engine, a shoe-cutting machine and a dress and skirt shield.12. In Margaret’s time.A. women inventors were not welcomedB. women were not allowed to invent anythingC. people didn’t believe women could invent anything valuableD. Margaret was the only woman inventor who was recognized13. We can infer from the text that .A. Margaret Knight’s first invention proved unsuccessfulB. This is a good way to have some fun with your children and show them your dedication to their education. Even if you’re not hel ping their teacher, your children will still see that you care. Some of the things I’ve done for my daughter’s elementary school are sharpening pencils for her classmates, gluing student portraits to construction paper, and cutting out flash cards. My daughter was eager to help with all of these projects, and they took us not more than an hour to complete each. Usually the teachers give you a few days to a week or sometimes more to complete them — so you can do this on your schedule. These are things your child can help with and can help the little ones with their math skills at the same time. There are some more complicated (复杂的) projects that take a bit more time, but you’re not required to do those if you can’t spare the time. I am always on the compute r, so I offered my time to update the PTA section of my daughter’s school website. It took a matter of minutes to get the training from our school librarian, who maintains (维护) the rest of the school website, and I could keep it updated in my sleeping dress at home. I’ve probably spent at most a half hour over the last year working on the website, and I still feel like I’m doing something for the school.46. The underlined word “dedication” in Paragraph 1 probably means “”.A. impressionB. determinationC. organizationD. contribution47. According to the author, those take-home projects .A. never included sharpening pencils for a classmateB. usually took them at most an hour to complete eachC. helped her gain much team work experienceD. helped her develop a good relation with teachers48. What can we learn from the text about the website project?A. It may take a week or so to complete.B. It is offered along with a computer.C. It requires some technical training.D. It can be completed in several minutes.BIt took me 16 years to realize that my black is beautiful. I have believed the fact that indeed my black is beautiful now. This skin I was in for so many years determined my self worth.I had so many factor s “against” me in my mind. I was a tall, thin, dark-skinned girl with a gap-toothed smile and a head full of curly (卷曲的) hair. Growing up, the only role model that I had was my mother, a beautiful brown and deep complexion (肤色). It’s amazing how I could find beauty in my mother’s complexion but not my own. One of the most outstanding memories of my childhood is that terrible word “Oh, she is so cute for a dark-skinned little girl”. People spoke as if I wasn’t in the room. From a young age, I felt shame tha t my black wasn’t good enough; so I buried myself in books to stay away from the mirror. I knew that my education would and could take me further than my looks. I stopped watching TV, absorbed in my studies and I was happy with my decision. Now I have been admitted to my ideal Coppin State University, which is all for the black students and has a long history.I came to a breaking point where I had, for 16 years, been brainwashed to agree to the European standard of beauty. I no longer accept this standard, because I set my own. My black is beautiful including my full lips, the wideness of nose, and the intensity (明亮) of my eyes. I refuse to follow their standard of beauty and they can set their sights elsewhere. I believe that there are plenty of beautiful dark-skinned women in the world.49. When she was young, the author .A. thought that her skin was beautifulB. wasn’t satisfied with her own appearanceC. thought that her mother was not beautifulD. didn’t mind others’ opinions about her looks50. We can learn from the text that .A. the author was a tall and thin girl with perfect teethB. people praised the author for her attractive appearanceC. others always spoke ill of the author behind her backD. the author worked hard at her lessons and succeeded51. How did the author break away from her unhappiness?A. She focused her minds on her study.B. She watched TV and read a lot of books.C. She decided to take the college examination.D. The text mainly tells us .A. dark-skinned women are often looked down uponB. black women are the most beautiful in the worldC. the change of the author’s standard of beautyD. how the author’s skin helped her succeedCHello,I can give you a first-hand experience since my wife and I visited Havelock Island last year.Arriving at Havelock, you will be so attracted by the beauty of Radhanagar Beach that you try to forget the crocodile (鳄鱼) incident. We were led off the beach at sunset by a local policeman who patrolled (巡逻) along the beach. We also found that almost nobody was in the water along the long beach. The few that were in the water were up to their waist or so. I don’t want to discourage you from going but it’s just worth knowing this is a very wild place where it would be possible to see many types of wild animals, including crocodiles.During our week on the island, I went diving at several sites, all of which were a long distance from Havelock. We spent about 45 minutes crossing the mangroves (红树林) in waist-deep water at times in order to get to the beach. If there are crocodiles on Havelock, I would say they would be there since the conditions are ideal for them — lots of mud and hot pools of still water. Returning from Elephant Beach we got lost in the mangroves for over 2 hours and my wife started to get quite nervous. So if you go through the mangroves to get to Elephant Beach, be sure to mark the route you take to get back, since the path is almost impossible to find unless you know exactly where it is.In summary, I would say that if you don’t mind taking your holiday with some caution in not being as free to swim in the water as you want, then I would say yo u’ll have a good time on and around Havelock Island.Hope this helps.Jack53. What’s the author’s main purpose in writing the letter?A. To attract more visitors to Radhanagar Beach.B. To introduce wild animals on Havelock Island.C. To warn about the danger on Havelock Island.D. To share some knowledge about crocodiles.54. We can infer from the text that .A. Radhanagar Beach is not open to visitorsB. Havelock Island is the best place for diversC. a crocodile incident probably once happened on HavelockD. the author feels regret for his visit to Havelock Island55. Why does the author believe crocodiles exist in the mangroves?A. Because he saw much mud and hot water pools there.B. Because there was almost nobody swimming there.C. Because he saw many types of wild animals there.D. Because his wife saw signs of crocodiles in the water.56. During his visit to Havelock Island, the author once .A. got fined by a policeman on Radhanagar BeachB. got lost on the way back from Elephant BeachC. was attacked by wild animals in the mangrovesD. was warned by swimmers to stay away from the waterDAmerican psychologists have found that knowing an experience is about to come to an end makes people enjoy it even more.“Endings affect us in lots of ways, and one is this kind of positive effect,” said researcher Ed O’Brien. “It’ll give you motivation (激励). You think, ‘I’d better gain the benefits of this experience even though it’s going to end,’ or ‘I want to get something good out of this while I still can.’ When you simply tell people something is the last, they may like that thing more.”In the study, fifty-two students were asked to pick five chocolates of different flavours in random (任意的) order from a hidden pocket inside a bag, and rank how much they enjoyed it on a scale (等级) of one to five. Some of the students were told when they were about to eat the last chocolate, while others were not given any warning. The last chocolate was found to be the favourite among the students 64% of the time, regardless of the flavour. Among the students who didn’t realize they were on their last chocolate, the last one was ranked favourite just 22% of the time.“Many experien ces have happy endings — from the movies we watch to dessert at the end of a meal —and so people may have a general expectation (期望) that things end well,” Mr. O’Brien said. But he added that the findings of the “little chocolate test” could have wider implications (暗示). For example, the professor marking the last exam paper may give it a higher grade even if it’s not as good as the ones previously marked. And employers may be more likely to give a job to the applicant (求职者) who was interviewed last.57. The second paragraph tells us that knowing something is ending, .A. people will feel disappointedB. people will become proudC. people will become inspiredD. people will become nervous58. We can learn from the text that .A. those students were divided into three groupsB. about forty-two students took part in the studyC. those who weren’t warned didn’t like the last chocolateD. those who were warned liked the last chocolate better59. Who may be most likely to cause the positive effect?A. The student who is latest for school.B. The last passenger who gets on the bus.C. The last employee who finishes the project.D. The last person who gives a performance.60. Which of the following might be the best title for the text?A. The last chocolate tastes bestB. The best chocolate is in the boxC. He built it so well that, when a great rainstorm arrived, his house stood still. However, the rainstorm often flooded nearly the whole forest, and the homes of many animals were destroyed.Soon, one after another, the homeless animals came to his door, asking if they could spend that winter with him in his home. He invited each visitor in, and gradually the house was full, and finally there was no room left. Though it was crowded, the rabbit was quite happy. He enjoyed sharing his house with others. In spring, all the animals returned to their own newly-built homes. One day the rabbit was playing happily outside. He did not realize that a lynx (山猫) was watching him nearby. One of the animals who had spent the winter in the rabbit’s home saw this and warned him just in time. And he shouted to the rabbit to come into his home. The lynx destroyed that home, but the rabbit managed to escape and run to hide in the home of another friend. For a whole day, the lynx followed the rabbit from house to house, from cave to cave, but the rabbit always managed to save himself. He was helped all the time by the friends because they were all given help by him in the winter. The rabbit felt very happy, not only because he had escaped the dangerous lynx, but also because he had made so many friends in the forest.46. But what you’re lacking is a social life. When your best friends move away at any age, they leave a big hole in your life and that’s hard for you. I think your classmates would probably be surprised that you haven’t been hanging out with any of them just as you might be surprised why some of them have also been so lonely. Here are some of my ideas of changing your situation. If there are any new kids in your school, they’ll probably be excited to hang out with you or have you show them fun places in your town. Sometimes inviting someone who might become your friend to study for a test together or to go for pizza after a game is a good way to turn someone you know into a friend or to get to know someone better. Talking to different kinds of people is a way to meet different types of people. You might also try joining a new club, like doing some voluntary (志愿的) work in your community or for your school play. You’re already doing all the right things in your school and in your neighborhood. And people like you for what you do. In the first year, students have far less stress than they do in their final year when they are prepared for going to college. Therefore, you might think about getting some part-time work to fill your time. It could give you more practical experience and a chance to meet new people, too.Good luck!Amy50. What was probably talked about in Marc’s last letter?A. His problems.B. His future plan.C. His study.D. His health.51. Which of the following is NOT the author’s suggestion?A. To show Marc how to learn his lessons well.B. To help his classmates as much as possible.C. To advise Marc to find a part-time job.D. To tell Marc how to improve his social life.CI had traveled a long distance from India to America in order to join my mother, who had been here for three years and hoped that America would help my future. On the first day, with anxiety on the one hand and fear on the other, I opened the door of the classroom slowly. Everyone’s eyes were on me as I entered the room. Without paying attention to them, I went straight to the teacher and asked if this was the right class. In a soft voice, he answered, “Yes.” His voice comforted me a little. He gave me a sheet called Course Requirements, which I would never get in India because we didn’t have anything like that. Then he asked me to choose where I would sit. I chose the seat closest to the door instead of the corner where all of the boys were sitting. I didn’t actually want to pick a seat. In India we were given seats by teachers. I spent the rest of the class taking notes from the images produced by the projector (投影仪). In Indian schools, we didn’t use the technology we had. In America, the teachers had a fun way of making hard things so easy that a three-year-old child could do them.At the end of the day, I was on my way to the school bus which we didn’t have in I ndia either. I found my bus easily and sat down inside silently. I was thinking: today wasn’t so bad.As time passed, I developed some friendships and started to love my school. The novel is about a thirteen-year-old boy named Brian Robeson. Gary Paulsen explains Brian’s troub les in simple words, but he also uses lots of those words to describe Brian’s troubles as well. One other reason is that it sparks (激发) your mind into reading or makes you start reading Gary Paulsen’s books. In this novel, the question is, “How will the main character survive?” So it’s obvious that this book is an adventure and a “man against nature” novel. We can learn from the text that .A. the novel mainly tells us how to survive in the wildB. hatchet is the only thing that the pilot leaves to BrianC. Gary Paulsen saved Brian Robeson’s lifeD. the author thinks highly of the novelBThe most popular fashion trend (趋势) for 2012 is a modern reinvention of revival (重新流行) styles, particularly styles from the 1960s. This is mostly a result of recent TV shows. Many of the styles on sale look attractive on teenage girls.● Cat eye sunglassesCat eye sunglasses are one of the most fashionable sunglasses shapes for 2012. Martin Baggs, chief executive of Thames Water, said that more money is needed to help build reservoirs(水库) and develop new technology. He added, “People must use less water during extreme conditions.”53. The process of desalination refers to the process of .A. removing salt from seawaterB. adding minerals into seawaterC. taking water from the seaD. supplying people with water54. It is implied in the text that in summer, .A. the drought in the UK will be less severeB. more methods will be used to ease droughtsC. more drinking water will be accessible in the UKD. the UK will be threatened by more serious droughts55. The process of desalination might not be widely used mainly because .A. new technology can be developedB. it costs too much money and energyC. it can’t produce enough drinking waterD. the water made this way isn’t healthy56. This skin I was in for so many years determined my self worth.I had so many factors “against” me in my mind. I was a tall, thin, dark-skinned girl with a gap-toothed smile and a head full of curly (卷曲的) hair. Growing up, the only role model that I had was my mother, abeautiful brown and deep complexion (肤色). It’s amazing how I could find beauty in my mother’s complexion but not my own. One of the most outstanding memories of my childhood is that terrible word “Oh, she is so cute for a dark-skinned little girl”. People spoke as if I wasn’t in the room. From a young age, I felt shame that my black wasn’t good enough; so I buried myself in books to stay away from the mirror. We were led off the beach at sunset by a local policeman who patrolled (巡逻) along the beach. We also found that almost nobody was in the water along the long beach. The few that werein the water were up to their waist or so. So if you go through the mangroves to get to Elephant Beach, be sure to mark the route you take to get back, since the path is almost impossible to find unless you know exactly where it is.In summary, I would say that if you don’t mind taking your holiday with some caution in not being as free to swim in the water as you want, then I would say you’ll have a go od time on and around Havelock Island.Hope this helps.Jack53. Among the students who didn’t realize they were on their last chocolate, the last one was ranked favourite just 22% of the time.“Ma ny experiences have happy endings — from the movies we watch to dessert at the end of a meal —and so people may have a general expectation (期望) that things end well,” Mr. O’Brien said. But he added that the findings of the “little chocolate test” could h ave wider implications (暗示). For example, the professor marking the last exam paper may give it a higher grade even if it’s not as good as the ones previously marked. And employers may be more likely to give a job to the applicant (求职者) who was interviewed last.57.
